Ake no Tobari Ch. 123 & Tekken Chinmi Legends Vol.15 Ch. 69

Nanaten here! I came back one week earlier than scheduled because I have to get back to recording my lines and recording equipment I brought with me didn't work well. But now that I'm back here earlier, I decided to spend the rest of my break gaining funds for equipment again.

That's right folks! Citrus Project's Scanlation Commission/Fundraiser is back!!! (insert mediocre cheer) The rules will be the same as the last one with a some additions. I now accept commission for a full volume for $30 with one volume taking 3 commission slots. I will be making another post for this later.

Random stuff: recently I was obsessed with making mini cheeseburgers.
A post shared by Nanaten (@citrus_nanaten) on
I bought mini patties, buns, tomatoes, and cheese slices but I was too lazy to get lettuce. I was so obsessed with making what I would like to call "The Ultimate (Cheap) Mini Double Cheeze Bahgaah", I've been eating them every meal ever since I got back. It was until the time of writing this I ran out of buns to grill and started to get sick of it.

And back to our favorite segment (probably): Nanaten's Latest Cover. This week, I recorded something as an audition for Japanese karaoke contest in Jakarta:

It's a song by Hamada Bamyu Bamyu (parody of Kyary Pamyu Pamyu played by Hamada from Gaki no Tsukai). I crossdressed at the end of the video as a homage to the original MV. I didn't have a pink wig so I couldn't go Full Kawaii. Instead it feels like I'm just singing in a drag. Hopefully, I got the audition.

About this Ake no Tobari chapter: over here we have Reimei centered chapter (props to Eva from Mavi manga for the amazing typesetting, as always). Reimei's barrier had been called strange by the casts since couple of tens chapters ago. This chapter answers one of the question as to why: Reimei's teacher died before he completed his training (Is it safe to assume Magatoki is to blame?). But this chapter present one more question as to why Reimei is capable of casting barrier arts at young age while his father died while on training ground. Right now, Reimei is walking towards that same training ground. I was so excited when I read this arc. Also Reimei's teacher is always welcomed.

Oh, I almost forgot that I also have Tekken Chinmi Legends this week. I was able to sneak this in the releases before I went home because it's a very short chapter with bigger fight-scene-to-dialog ratio.

So here are Reimei and Chinmi chapters for you to enjoy. Ake no Tobari will take another break next week, but I still have a couple of T-Sensei chapters waiting.

Tekken Chinmi Legends Vol. 15 Ch. 67

Nanaten here. My sister and I spent the past few days just chilling in front of a laptop binging 13 Reasons Why before second season airs next week. At the time of writing this, I convinced her to watch Stranger Things, but she got scared before the opening credits, so she watched Riverdale instead. It's fun to watch her guessing who killed Jason Blossom.

Last week, I talked about how I wish Mushoku Tensei get its anime adaptation. And I still do. Mushoku Tensei is one of the first reincarnation light novels I've ever read. I used to wait everyday to see if there's a new chapter translated. I remembered how I got excited when I read the adventure volumes, laughed when I read the daily life chapters, and cried when I read the last chapter. It is one of the series where you care so much for the characters because you watch them growing from infancy right to the final moment of their lives and yet you know life goes on in that world. There is still so many more stories to tell and lots of unanswered questions. I am looking forward to the sequel to the WN version and perhaps for the LN version to be localized.

This week, I worked on three cosplay videos and two covers I have on my backlog. Here's the first cosplay video I shot back in April:

I haven't done cosplay videos for months at that point. At the time of shooting, I realized I have lost my touch. That Cindy footage was shot by my friend because I couldn't find the right angle. I also lost some footages because I was shaking too much. I am also learning about color grading recently, so there are parts that are overexposed. I am saying this because the other two videos have almost the same quality.

Another video I uploaded is a quick cover of Baloney Speaker by Nekobolo:

Somehow, this (and some other songs) got stuck in my head, so I had to record a cover of it. Not counting that History Maker video, this is actually the first English cover I've ever done. (Note to self: always tune before mix)

About this chapter: Ake no Tobari chapter 120 is a long chapter and almost all of them needs a proper cleaning. Since the folks at Mavi Manga still haven't gotten back to me yet, I decided to translate Tekken Chinmi Legends. I was supposed to work on this few weeks ago. I rented the volume that time and I still haven't returned it yet, racking late fees each passing day. So while I am waiting for the typeset chapters of Ake no Tobari (and T-Sensei), I will be working on TCL.

So here's the continuation of Tekken Chinmi Legends. Now I'm gonna go and watch my sister reacts to Riverdale.

Ake no Tobari Ch. 113 & Tekken Chinmi Legends Vol 14 Ch. 66

Nanaten here. Recently I'm starting to wear decorative glasses every time I go outside. There's nothing wrong with my eyes, but the times I spend staring at screens has left them dry. So I've been taking naps at noon.

I am currently reading How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom (I'm at volume 4 at the time of writing this post. So with that and my papers to occupy my time with, this post will be brief. I am also wondering if any of you actually read my posts before reading the chapter or if you find it entertaining. Let me know in the comments.

My gaming PC had software issue, so I have to take a break from doing Citrus Plays. I think this is a sign to go with my other video projects. But I still have something I would like to share:

I, along with other utaites, made  a multi-language cover of Halyosy's Blessing to celebrate Kurokaze's (黑風) friends' birthday. This is the first time I did a collaborative cover with other people. It was a great experience. The personnels involved were talented and wonderful people. They taught me so many things. I hope I'll be able to use this experience for my other projects.

About this Ake no Tobari chapter: this is one of my favorite Tobari and Reimei moments. All of my favorite Tobari and Reimei moments has always been when they are fighting side-by-side as a partner should. Take note that Tobari's lines were all in Hiragana in the Japanese raws, meaning that Tobari is talking in a simple toddler-ish manner. Think Yotsuba from Yotsuba&.

About this Tekken Chinmi Legends chapter: this is the last chapter of volume 14, which means I either proceed to volume 15 or proceed with other series on hiatus. Let me know what you think.

So here's this week's double release. Next week will be a single release. If I am late with the release, just assume I was too occupied reading Realist Hero. I just hope that I won't be engrossed with my reading that I forgot to attend my friend's wedding today.

Ake no Tobari Chapter 111 & Tekken Chinmi Gaiden Vol. 3 Ch. 2

Nanaten here, almost forgetting that I have to do an update. As you can see from the image above, I have picked up Tekken Chinmi Gaiden as a project to fill the slot for the second monthly sponsored chapters. When I first browsed Tekken Chinmi mangas at my local manga rental store, I discovered the first volume of Gaiden. I thought that was a one-shot kind of thing. Then last year, I discovered Takeshi Maekawa's twitter account (or an official Tekken Chinmi twitter account, I honestly couldn't tell), and I found out that there are four volumes for this series. So back when I was doing the commission thing, I decided to translate this as a bonus. Never quite finished it until two weeks ago. But unfortunately, this might be the last time I do it. Let me explain why:

Right after I uploaded this chapter on my cloud, I discovered on Manga Updates that Harudaki Scans had picked up EVERY TEKKEN CHINMI manga, including Legends and Gaiden, since I went on hiatus last year, yet nobody told me. For a day I was wondering about what should I do. Should I keep going, or should I drop these projects altogether? The thing is, I can't seem to find where Harudaki put their chapters (were they subscription based? I have no idea) and I still have one chapter left in Legends volume 14. So I'll do that before moving on. Don't worry, I am not planning to drop Legends yet.

Random stuff: I recently listen to Hamilton musical album (I know, right?) and I can't seem to stop listening to it. So I have been watching Hamilton animatics and the cold I'm having right now luckily covers my tears (yes, I have a mild cold yet again).

Another announcement:
Our "My Hero Academia" Cosplay Photobook is now available for preorder until Monday. Just go to Instagram or Facebook and PM to make your order. I don't know if the guy takes international shipping, but you can always ask.

As per usual, this week on Citrus Plays, I played the English-patched version of Retro Game Challenge 2 (also known as Game Center CX: Arino no Chousenjou 2 in Japan), a game based on my favorite Japanese TV show. There's an intro at the beginning of the video, so check it out:

It was at this moment of writing that I realized that so many comics and manga got canceled this week: DC announced that Super Sons is canceled, Jump canceled Golem Hearts (I don't care about the other manga that got canceled alongside it), and now my translation of Chinmi Gaiden. There's also that whole Youtube Partner thing, but I'm not particularly saddened by that since I barely make money on Youtube. Just another failed platform, I guess.

So here are this week's releases. Let me know in the comments what you think. And I'll see you next video week.

Ake no Tobari Ch. 110 & Tekken Chinmi Legends Vol. 14 Ch. 65

Nanaten here wishing everyone a Happy Chinese New Year! I finally got back to the city last Tuesday and my class also started last Wednesday. "It took a week to get over my vacation mode, but I have now resumed to my daily activities" is what I am supposed to say if it wasn't for the rain downpours over the past two weeks that sucks the motivations out of me to do anything (I know, more excuses).

Random stuff: I finally upgraded my phone to less older model. So expect more random stuff. I also use it to get Ake no Tobari raws from the app since I cannot do that anymore in the web version. Comico put a code that disables download via browser. But the good news is, once you open a chapter with a ticket via the app, you can access it on the computer. So it made sorting the pages a lot easier (at least compared to my old phone).

Besides getting manga raws, I recently got into playing mobile games. I am currently playing New Seal Online. It keeps draining my battery and now I'm worried if it will damage my phone due to overheating. If you happen to be in the game, come and say hi.

Unrelated stuff: I made a cover of Perfume's Chocolate Disco for Valentine's Day. Check it out here.

About these chapters: I didn't managed to typeset these chapters before I left last month, so it got pushed back to today. I only managed to finish them just minutes before I uploaded it to Patreon, as I always do. On Ake no Tobari's side, the next few chapters is going to be a pain to clean, while it is one of my favorite fights. On Chinmi's side, now that I have finished Illbeck's first volume, I think it is time to switch to other series. But I still haven't decided which series I should go with for next week. Do you have any request? Let me know in the comments, although I probably would already decide on that by the time you read this post.

Speaking of which, I still haven't uploaded previous chapters on Mangadex yet. I apologize for that.

So here are this week's updates. I'll see you next week.

Ake no Tobari Ch. 108 & Tekken Chinmi Legends Vol. 14 Ch. 64

Nanaten here with the first double update of the year. I wanted to make a separate posts for each release but I didn't have enough time and topics to say, so I just joined them in one blog post. Because of my tardiness from two weeks ago, I forgot to upload a chapter for last week. To make up for it, I spent the last two weeks translating a bunch of chapters. Barely enough for the next three weeks (I sort of stumbled upon a raw problem).

As you noticed from the post title, this week we have a double update of Ake no Tobari and Tekken Chinmi Legends. Yes, I've read your comments begging for me to translate Chinmi again for the past year. Yeah, it's been a while since I last translated it. I've been meaning to do it back when I did that commission thing. I kept renting TCL volume 14 but never get to translate it to the point it's filling my membership log at the rental place.

So Chinmi volume 14 will be taking the first sponsored chapter slot for every month. I think it's time I change that sponsored chapters thing from my patreon page into monthly chapters.

Random stuff: So this week's episodes of Citrus Plays are back-to-back between Animetic Story Game: Cardcaptor Sakura and Devilman.
I tried to do a little something for both male and female demographics. I was excited to play both series, until this happened:
I received an email saying that Youtube has changed its monetization policy limiting it to channels that have over 4000 hour watch time and over a thousand subscribers starting February 20th. My channel has been growing slowly and this basically killed my channel. I was so close to getting one hundred subscribers and finally get my channel url. Anyway as I was saying, this is depressing stuff.

That being said, I will still upload contents on my channel. Even though monetization is off, I barely used it anyway for the past 7 years since I made the account, so what the heck right? I do appreciate if you watch, subscribed, and comment so I can improve my content.

Other stuff: It is come to my attention that some manga aggregator sites uploaded my releases from the read online page instead of using from the download link I provided (again). Please do not upload the images from the read online link because it doesn't include the credit page. I worked for these chapters and I would feel appreciated if you could upload my release by using the download link I provided on this site that has credit pages in it. Someone has suggested to upload my releases on mangadex. I haven't checked them yet because my ISP blocked that site, so I will have to use Zenmate everytime I upload a chapter. My policy for chapter upload remains the same: 24 hours after I update on this site. So please do not upload my release anywhere else for at least 24 hours. Thank you.

So here's this year's first double release. Next week, I have to return to my hometown for my cousin's wedding. But I already typeset a few chapters, so I'm good to go.

Commission Slot 9-10: Tekken Chinmi Legends Vol. 20 Ch. 100

Nanaten here with the last commissioned chapter. Special shoutout to Mohd Sulaiman.

This whole commission thing is a valuable experience. It shows just how much you care about this series, much more that myself. I somehow managed to pull through this despite my laziness and hectic schedule (still can't configure my sleeping schedule).

Anyway, I hope you enjoy this chapter. I may do this again sometime next year.

Commission Slot 7-8: Tekken Chinmi Legends Vol. 20 Ch. 99

Nanaten here with another commissioned chapter as promised. This chapter is brought to you by Mohd Sulaiman.

About this commission in particular: this release took two slots because it turns out, in the magazine version, this is actually chapter 105 and 106. Apparently, starting from I dunno what chapter, the tankobon version started to combined two chapters. Since I have both the magazine raws and tankobon raws, it wasn't such a problem to me. The problem was to treat this release as one commission slot or two. As you can see, I decided to go with the latter.

Anyway, enjoy. Slot 9-10 will be released next week.

Citrus Project's First Scanlation Commission/Fundraiser

Nanaten's Random Friday

Nanaten here! I somehow went over budget on my cosplay and now in need for some cash to finish them. So I'm thinking of open a commission. Currently I'm opening 10 slots for commisions.

How do I make a commission?

You can contact me on the facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/citrusprojects/
message me via twitter: @citrus_nanaten
tumblr: https://citrus-project.tumblr.com/
or good ol' email: fridwan31@gmail.com or citrusnanaten@gmail.com

What can I commission?

This is the first time I'm doing this, so it's going to be limited to chapters of series I'm working on currently, including those that are on hiatus/dropped. I only open 10 commision slots. That's 10 chapters of whatever series that I'm working on. For more details of that the series are, click here.

How much per chapter?

Depends on the series:
  1. Webmanga (Ake no Tobari): 5$ USD
  2. Manga that's around 20-30 pages long (CnR, InS, SnM, WoG, Samurai Sensei, Paradise, AshiAo): 8$ USD
  3. Manga that's around 50-60 pages long (Kaiouki, SnT, SnM2): 10$ USD
  4. Manga that has more than 80 pages long (SnT Showa Arc, Ryuusui no Tsubasa):  12$ USD

How long will it take to do a chapter?

Around 3 days to a week, depending on what series. It will not count towards the weekly release.

Can I commission a different series that you're not working on?

Unfortunately, no. However I'm opening a slot for SnM2 (Shura no Mon: Dai ni Mon), RnT (Ryuusui no Tsubasa). Maybe next tiem I'm opening a commission.

If you have more questions, leave it in the comments below.

Tekken Chinmi Legends Vol. 14 Ch. 63

Nanaten here with the second Tekken Chinmi Legends update. I said on previous post that I'll be talking about my youtube channel, so here I go.

Recently, my brother's boss suggested that I should do weekly Vlogs. I'm intrigue with the idea. Back when I started on livejournal, I never thought of doing vlogs because, well, I already have a blog (and I didn't know that vlog was a thing). So what's the point? And this view haven't changed for the next 4 years.

There's also that I could not come up with a content. Writing this blog took me a few hours. Even that there's still parts I'm missing and forget. I have a general idea about what to say, but I keep forgetting them and only realized it a second after I uploaded it. This has been my case for years now, If you've read my blog.

And if you've watched my channel, you'd find that most of the contents are in Bahasa Indonesia. I get nervous when I speak and I get more nervous when I speak in English, hence I never use English to speak to people (cursing does not count) (oddly, I use English when I speak to my brother). When I made my youtube channel, I wanted it to be enjoyable to everyone who read my blog and patreon. Otherwise you'll just see a weirdo doing random shot in Indonesian with a weird dialect. So if I'm gonna do this, I want to do it in English. (I could just do it in Indonesian with closed caption, but too lazy to make the subtitles)

So here's what I am going to do: I will wait until I get my Bachelor's degree and then I will do weekly vlogs. What I'm wondering about is whether anyone here would actually watch it. Let me know in the comments.

About this chapter: so here's the climax of Chinmi's assassination arc. It was by this chapter I realized that Chen is a boy, so I have to go back and changed previous chapter. Thankfully, I hadn't been typeset yet. I also realized that I miss refered Tobari's mother as "Lord Kokonoe" instead of "Lady Kokonoe".

So here's second update of Tekken Chinmi Legends. I've run out of translated chapter so I will move on to next manga.

Tekken Chinmi Legends Vol. 14 Ch. 62

Nanaten here! Sorry I'm late. Real life stuff have kept me busy for the couple weeks and I didn't have time to translate. I probably have to skip next week release as well.

My thesis is still in progress. Thanks to everyone's support (family, friends, you) I managed to get out of the slump.

As you can see, I finished with my videos on Makassar Toys Expo. There's still one more video coming up, but that can wait (or never be released at all). I'll talk about my youtube channel on other post.

I just watched the first season of Torchwood. My thought was: Wow, they weren't kidding when they said it's adult-oriented. It certainly piqued my bi-curiosity.

About this chapter: So yeah, this week I have double chapter as promised. Although if you think about it, since I missed last week release, it doesn't mean anything.

So here's Chinmi and his problem management skill. I'll talk about my youtube channel next post. Special thanks to these lovely patrons:

And special shout out to Long Vu for the donation. Much appreciated.

Tsukumo vs. Chinmi

Nanaten's Random Friday

It's time for another random poll!

It's been a week since I picked up Tekken Chinmi Legends and it raises a question, who would win in a fight, Tsukumo Mutsu or Chinmi?

Is Tsukumo's Mukuha (not counting his four gates) can defeat Chinmi's Tsuhaiken?

Poll closes on November 8th.

Who would win in a fight?
