Nanaten here. A lot of things happened while I was gone. So let's go over it one by one
My Brother got Married
First, congratulations, my big bro and his beautiful wife. The prep work for the wedding was a nightmare and a half. Two wedding receptions in a span of one week. I sang "My Heart Will Go On" at the groom's part of the reception. Question for you guys: what's your go-to song to sing at a wedding?
I did a Collab with Ruang Obrol
A few days before the wedding, I posted a collab video with Ruang Obrol. We both are fans of Shura no Mon series, so we've always wanted to do a collab where we talk about it. However, because we live in completely different part of Indonesia, we couldn't do it, until now thanks to the power of technology. In my part of the collab, we talk about Fudekage, the first manga series I've ever completed.
While on Ruang Obrol's channel, we talk about Shura no Toki volume 16 and 17.
I finished Ace Attourney: Spirit of Justice
So I could've posted this last week. The reason I forgot to do that is because I was playing Ace Attourney: Spirit of Justice. It was a fun game. The spirit vision (or whatever it was called) mechanic was so frustrating on later cases, that I had to consult to a guide. But regardless, I had a wonderful time. I'm still contemplating whether I should play the original triology or skip to the Great Ace Attourney.
About these chapters
I can't believe we're already at chapter 300. This series has become a huge part of my life for the past 8 years. And I hope it is a huge part of your guys lives too. I planned a bunch of stuff to commemorate this milestone. Our Ake no Tobari merch is available on our Fourthwall shop. Please buy it and send me some pictures of them on discord server or twitter once they arrive.
Alright, here are the chapters. I'll see you guys next time, hopefully soon.
Nanaten here absolutely forgetting that I have a scanlation blog to manage. My brother's wedding planning has been hectic. The wedding is in two weeks. I barely have time to rest. And oh, my cats full of fleas, which transfers on to my bed, resulted in me getting less sleep because they keep biting me in my sleep. My entire body is covered in bug bites and scars from scratching.
If you've not been watching my youtube channel or my patreon page, I am proudly to announce that I have an online store over at https://nanaten-shop.fourthwall.com/
We have some cool merch to celebrate the upcoming Ake no Tobari chapter 300. We got T-shirts, prints, mug, hoodies. And we're planning on producing even cooler stuff should everything goes well.
If you sign up on my patreon page, you can get a 10% discount code for your purchase.
I made a music video
Early this month, they released a Live Action TV Special of Great Teacher Onizuka called "GTO Revival". It's a continuation of the 1998 live action adaptation of Great Teacher Onizuka. This particular adaptation holds a special place in my heart. The 1998 live action was the first adaptation of the original manga, preceeding the anime. It was the first GTO media I watched as a kid back in the early 2000s. The story touched me in a core level, it legit inspired me to take a carreer path in teaching. So when hearing about the GTO Revival featuring the returning cast from that particular adaptation, you can tell how excited I was.
Back in 2018, I did a cover of the theme song of the live action series. It was well received. When the announcement of the TV special came around, the view count of that cover skyrocketted. That being said, I wasn't satisfied with the video because of the filter I put on it. So with the Revival series in mind, I thought of remaking the cover with a full blown music video.
Nanaten here. How is everyone doing? It's been a while. Anyway, here's the things that you've been missing:
Did another online appearance at Midtown Festival
I was invited once again to participate in a Karaoke event. This time I sang Sleep Walking Orchestra from Delicious in Dungeon. Speaking of, I remember one of the early review I made on this blog was Delicious in Dungeon volume 1. Unfortunately, it got taken down because of DMCA. Actually, a lot of my manga reviews in this blog got DMCA's a couple of years ago smh.
Doing one youtube short everyday
I wanted to gather a way to get more views and more subscriber on youtube. So I took one of Jason Thor's advice and make one youtube short every single day for the entire month. I noticed a significant jump in views and subscribers. The short is mostly a simple one, like twitch clips, or beat saber gameplay. Playing beat saber is such a good youtube shorts content generator in general. Hopefully I can gather enough to get youtube membership this year.
Preparing for my brother's wedding
For the past couple of months, my family has been planning for my brother's wedding. We took a roadtrip to visit the bride's family and get to know the in-laws. It was my first time meeting her, as when my brother started dating, I already moved out. One particular thing I remember from our first meeting is that she mentioned how she watched one of my youtube videos.
"Which one?" I asked.
I can't believe I rode 250 km on my scooter for this shit. Still, she seems like a pleasant fellow.
Ake no Tobari is close to 300 Chapters!!!
Yo, what a milestone! Three hundred chapteroos!! It's been eight years since I started working on this series. And we're getting closer and closer to the end. I already downloaded all of the remaining raws. Which is fortunate because Comico decided to paywall the majority of the chapters starting this month. When this series is done, I'm cutting all ties with that app/website.
To celebrate the 300 chapters I want to do something special. Starting with making commemorative T-shirts of Tobari and Reimei. I already commissioned an artist to come up with the design and I'm looking for a maker so you guys can order it internationally. I would also like to do a commemmorative stream where I invited a bunch of friends and we would do an online table read of the comic. Right now, I'm looking for participants. So look forward to that.
Onto the chapters
As per usual, let me know if you find any error or mistake in the chapter. Okay, I'll be working on Ake no Tobari chapter 300.
Joke aside. I have been extremely busy, that it took me a whole two weeks just to finish this chapter. So let's start from the top:
Our VCB 2023 entry is up
I participated in Vintange Chorus Battle as a ringer for this team, Six of Hearts. Our entry for the first round is Queen of Hearts. Recording this was kinda tough. There was a lot of code switching between Japanese and English involved; some awkward phrasings; and we couldn't decide on the instrumental to use. Truth to be told, I wasn't very satisfied with the final product. But at least it wasn't the worst entry in the CB.
Nanaten Awards 2023 is coming
Oh shoot, I forgot to announce it here, didn't I? So, yeah. Just like last year, we're doing another award show type of thing that also coincides with my third vtuber anniversary. The voting period is ending today. So I was a little bit late to announce it. Whoops.
Anyway, if there is still time, please go ahead and pick your favorite stream moments here.
About this chapter:
Before you proceed with this chapter, please make sure you've read the spin-off Illbeck no Seireijutsushi as next two volumes details the event of that manga from the perspective of the dragon mages. This is the volume that I am most excited about. I love crossover chapter, especially when it's tied to the character arc. Usually, manga crossovers are considered non-canon; characters meet, interact, and never get referenced again; mostly due to the opposing nature of the respective series. But not this one. In this volume, we get the explanation on why the dragon mages appeared the way they did in the spin-off series. There are some hilarious expalanation, and they all tied to the overall lore of the series.
Also, the entire spin off was published between volume 5 and 6. So if we're going by publishing date, that's the reading order.
So anyway, here is the chapter. As usual let me know if you find any mistake or error in the chapter. Next week will be an Ake no Tobari update.
Nanaten here wishing everyone a happy (belated) Turkey Day. Now time to sing Padoru for the next 30 days:
How have you guys been? I can't believe it's been three months since the last update. A lot has and hasn't changed since then. So why don't we catch up?
I was depressed
You know how one bad day can just send you to a deep end? One particular day back in October, I took L's after L's. In the span of twenty four hours, I: had the worst experience at a local DMV, lost my dad's money, my job application didn't fall through because of weird technicality, my gacha pull was a dud, and my stream got copyrighted. All those (and more) happened on a single day and I just couldn't handle it. The next couple of days, I just stared at my bedroom ceiling. I thought I could pull through, but the thing about grief is that it comes in waves. Just when I thought I got out of it, another wave crashes through. Next thing I know, I was shedding a tear while watching a Drawfee compilation.
During that period I had this constant pressure from everyone around me. Streaming was my only creative outlet. But I see that streaming on youtube lead to nowhere. Which leads to the second headline:
I'm on Twitch
I guess this is old news by this point: Twitch announced that they finally allows simulstream to other platforms. So I thought, why the heck not? I'd considered streaming on twitch, but I couldn't just leave my (almost nonexistent) audience on youtube. This simulcast allows me to gain more followers on twitch, while still making content on youtube. And, since I'm simulcasting, the VODs goes straight to youtube. No fuss no muss.
So yeah, I stream at least once every weekend. I play games, discuss manga, and work on my manga translation there. If you wanna say hi, just go to https://twitch.tv/citrus_nanaten and I'll see you there.
A bunch of covers
During that depression period, one of my creative outlet besides straming was singing. And there was one song that actually got me through that experience: the ending theme of "Saint Cecilia and Pastor Lawrence," 『Tokosiesta』 by Sasanomaly. I haven't watched the anime. The song just landed on my youtube feed, and I just fell in love with it.
I did another Sasanomaly cover a month prior, and people seem to like it. One comment actually suggested me to do more. So I did.
And here's another cover of Yukopi's meme song:
Funny thing: so a Youtaite named Kai host a monthly watch party called Youtaite Rewind where people send their covers they uploaded that given month to listen to. During September and October, I send the Sasanomaly covers and both times the songs got the stream content claimed and blocked worldwide. While people seem to enjoy the covers, I am sincerely sorry that the VODs got blocked.
New Patreon Credit Page
Gone are the monthly patreon shoutout in this blog. All of the Patreon shout-out are now done in a credit page in the download zip files. I took some inspiration (if not entirely ripping off) Souseki scans patreon shoutout page. So if you guys wanna check it out, you can download the zip files, or read the chapters on mangadex.
Okay, now that you've all caught up with the going-ons in the past three months, you may proceed with the chapter. I still wanna talk more about the lower back pain I'm currently suffering at the moment of writing this post, but the pain prevents me from elaborating any further. So, let me know if you find any error or mistake in the chapter in the comments below. I'll see you next week.
Nanaten here getting ready for a school staff retreat. My eyes are super dry right now.
Recently I've been really into The Legend of Luo Xiaohei, a Chinese web animated series, and its extended universe. I saw a clip of The Legend of Hei, the animated movie prequel of the webseries, on youtube, and immediately in love with the series. If you haven't watched it yet, I highly recommend you guys to do so. For the following week, I was struck with that lethargic feeling you get after finishing a long-running series and incapable to move on. What was the last series you watch/read that gives you that feeling? Let me know in the comments.
Other random news: they just announced that an anime adaptation of Haigakura by Takayama Shinobu (Amatsuki) is officially in the works. The announcement was leaked a couple of weeks back by MangaMogura. It was one of the highlights of that week for me. I've been a huge fan of Takayama Shinobu since I read Amatsuki back in highschool. And I've read their other works as well: Haigakura, Mr. Morning, Mr. Applicant, etc. I even cosplayed as Ichiyou, the main character of Haigakura, in 2015. It was one of my first cosplay I've ever done. So yeah, so excited for the anime and finally have my old costume relevant again.
So here's the chapter. As usual, let me know if you find any error or mistake. I'll see you once I'm back from the retreat.
Corseltel no Ryujutsushi Koryu Monogatari Chapter 38:Read Online
Nanaten here! I think we all can agree that Twitter's rebranding to X is a colossal fuck up, right? Okay, cool.
This week, I uploaded my cover of Fantasy on soundcloud. It's been a while since I check out my soundcloud page and some of the comments I get there were pretty harsh. And then I decided to give my old covers a listen. And you know what? They're right. What was I thinking back then when I uploaded those covers? I must've thought that I was some hot shit back then. Like, bruh, you don't even sing it at the right key. Comparing my old cover and newer ones, there's an improvement there, however subtle it is. The vocal training does pay off. Thanks, coach.
Oh, right, my birthday! I celebrated my birthday a couple of weeks ago. And as you know, I did a birthday concert.
Setting up this concert took me a couple of months. From picking up the setlist, recording the songs, doing motion capture, etc. Mostly the time I spent on working on the A.I. voice models of me and my friends to use. I already have permissions from all my content creator friends who were kind enough to provide me with their voice to train their a.i. with. But for some reason, my a.i. was completely broken. I must've overtrained it, because my a.i. voice came out like it had speech impediment. It just gave up on pronouncing consonants. I might going to have to redo my a.i. model. But now that my birthday is over, I'll probably refrain from using a.i., and instead just use my actual vocal.
Recently I've been busy with helping with my town's preparation for Indonesian independence day. I was selected to be a committee to train kids for the independence day ceremony. I mostly help with the administrative side of things, and show up during rehearsal from time to time. If this event goes well, fingers crossed, I might be able to upgrade my computer so I can stream properly. That is if I don't go broke from commissioning artists for stuff.
During my birthday concert, I commissioned artists to do some key visuals and channel logo. After one and two commissions, I might be getting addicted to it. It really doesn't help too due to the fact that hiring domestic artists is a whole lot cheaper (like seriously, the key visual art for my concert only cost $5). And recently, I commissioned an artist to make a bunch of stickers for my discord (and for the low low price of $2, hell yeah). No more blackmailing my artist friend into doing my bidding.
Anyway enough of that, let's talk about Maria's Curse. Thanks to everyone's support, Maria's Curse one shot manga actually won the preliminaries of the one-shot tournament to the final round. So many comments and support on the app from fellow Ake no Tobari fans. But, we're not done yet! There's one more voting round for the final! The procedure is similar to the previous one. Go to Ganma's twitter account, and retweet the manga! Or go to the manga's page on Ganma app, and leave a comment there. The voting period ends on August 13. And as an incentive, Momochi Dori-sensei actually posted a bunch of illustrations and short manga on their twitter page, which I also translated in this post. So please, give it a go!
So here are the chapters, it was Saturday when I started writing this post, and as it's already Sunday by the time this post is uploaded.
As usual, let me know in the comments or discord if you find any error or mistake. I'll see you next week.
Nanaten here. Sorry that I haven't been around here for so long. I got caught up in real life stuff every weekend that I completely forgot to update a post here even though I still post stuff on my patreon that redirects to this blog. So I'm just gonna write stuff that I've already written on my patreon post anyway in chronological order.
I released a "The First Take" cover
or more like "The First Take" style cover video:
I'd been working on this cover for years and It's now released. Special shout-out to @Notaseaturtle for helping me with the mixing and arrangement. The cover turned out absolutely amazing and I'm really quite proud of the end result. For more explanation on the behind-the-scene stuff, just go to my patreon.
I went to a cosplay event for the first time since the pandemic
So that was my first stage performance as a Vtuber 🕺😎
Special thanks to @/arissetiawn_ @/meiihwa @/galeri_veeoocee and MTF2023 for giving me the opportunity to stand on stage pic.twitter.com/nbOkY9oRWB
— Nanaten 📖💬 Manga VTuber (@citrus_nanaten) March 6, 2023
At the beginning of March, I went along with my parents to visit my brother at the city. During the weekend, I got to go to a cosplay event. first time I've ever been ever since the pandemic. I haven't seen my cosplayer friends in so long. I saw some new faces in the local cosplaying scene and all their costumes were amazing. I was invited to enter the event's J-Song cover competition as my Vtuber persona and it was an experience. While I enjoyed my time at the event, going there alone and not cosplaying did take out half of the excitement. I plan on going to another cosplay event at the city with my brother and cousins in a couple of weeks. Maybe I'll enjoy my time more then.
I got measles
Right after that trip to the city, my father contracted measles, which, a week later, passed on to me. I had the fever, headaches, and blisters all over my body. I was pretty much out of commission for one and a half week. I was mostly recovered at the final Monday of the month, but on the way home from work, I got caught in the passing rain and ended up with a cold which left me out of commission again for the rest of that week.
I went to teacher training program (+Ramadhan)
As soon as I recovered from my cold, I registered for a training program for University lecturer. The program took a couple of weeks which took my entire concentration to attend. But all in all, it was worth it. I gained so many insights on how to better plan my lessons. But still, writing up the report for some of the program assignments were nightmare, especially during Ramadhan cause I was too famished from feasting to actually do anything.
Toranosuke's Birthday
April 10th is the birthday of Toranosuke from Umakawa manga. So to celebrate that, I decided to translate some of the manga Miku Morinaga sensei drew on her twitter page. I did tease about it a couple of years ago when I just finished translating Umakawa. And seeing everyone's reception of the chapters on mangadex makes me glad that this manga is still haven't been forgotten. It's quite touching, really.
Eid Mubarak (+Rocket League)
Which leads us to the end of Ramadhan, a.k.a. Eid'l Fitri, a.k.a. that time of the year my mom cooked too much staple food and our household must suffer the consequences. Earlier this month, my mom bought a refrigerator because our previous one was too small for her to store food. But she's too much of a miser to give up the other fridge, so now the house has two running refrigerators. Boy, can't wait till the electric bill comes out.
Anyway, my siblings came to visit, and we did a lot of catching up. My cousins also came by and with them are their children, which means it's my job to keep them entertained. So I just put them all in my room and had them play video games, mostly Rocket League. Most of those kids have never heard of Rocket League before as their young mind are more accustomed to either Minecraft (on android, to boot), Mobile Legends, or casual mobile games. Young kids these days, amirite?
So I've been spending my time playing Rocket League on casual plays. I tried competitive, but I got owned every match. One of my friends, Rukku, wanted me to play as he's the most experienced Rocket League player in our circle of Vtuber friends. But considering our region differences, and my potato pc, I think it'll be a while before we can do a rocket league collab stream together.
Nanaten here wishing everyone a (belated) happy Valentine's day. Probably should've made the message the previous week, but just like everything else in this blog, everything is always one week late.
Speaking of something that I should've announced last week: I'll be doing a concert livestream this Sunday to celebrate my 2nd Vtuber Anniversary.
This might come a bit sudden but I'm having my 2 Year #Vtuber anniversary concert this Sunday at 9 AM (GMT +8)🎸🎹🎵
I say concert, but it's more like an over glorified karaoke stream. I didn't actually plan on doing any stream this week. I was supposed to be on a retreat with my school's faculty staff, but because of the constant rain, we had to cancel. And since I'll be (surely) busy starting next week, this week is the only chance. Also remembering that my Vtuber anniversary was one month late anyway, I see why the heck not.
Anyway, let's rewind back to the Valentine's Day video I made with a bunch of friends:
We did a Singles game night where we tried to play Red Flags, but the recording session was so scuffed, it took us over 2 hours just to setup the game. Of course we played another game in those two hours, so look forward to that video. We had fun during recording, so much that we're thinking of making it a regular thing.
Random stuff: I forgot to mention this last week when talking about Korean webtoon I've been reading recently: Lightning Degree/Master of the Lightning Knives. From what I heard, it's based on an old Korean webnovel that's highly popular there. I believe there was a talk to adapt it into a live action drama. I would love to see that, mostly because of the tropes and cliches in this series. It has a lot of familiar plot beats which for some reason, is really comforting for me. If you haven't read it yet, give it a go.
About this chapter: this time, we have a chapter focused on Preya. We haven't seen him and Mr. Teim ever since they moved out Marciel's house into the Dark Dragons' house. And we actually get some characterization of Mr. Teim. I guess we can forget how he used to be an alcoholic who abandoned his family to pursuit space? That's the best part of Corseltel: fresh start for anyone living there.
So here's the new chapter. As usual, let me know if you find any error or mistake. Next week will be a Tobari update.
Nanaten here. I just came back from a 6 hour Dokapon Up stream. Note to self: take occasional breaks when stream. Cuz like after hour 3, my mind was all static. I mean look, I start writing the way I would talk during my stream.
Here's the archive, now I'm just waiting for Kiyosen to make his own clips of his own end:
Nevertheless, I had a blast. I only notice this recently, I get more loose and casual in the way I talk around 3PM, after a long day of work. Maybe it's finding the groove thing or just complete exhaustion. If given the chance (or reaching a major milestone) I would like to try doing a 12 hour sub-a-thon.
Anyway, I am completely exhausted. I woke up at 3AM this morning because my mom's kittens were playing around my futon. I couldn't get back to sleep and I was supposed to give my mom a ride home from the mountain cabin at 5AM. One hour of riding on my scooter later, it's 06:15 AM and I had an aerobic session at 06:30. I arrive at the aerobic site, the trainer came in late, like, an hour late. So we only started the aerobic at 07:40. I couldn't do the whole session because I have to get ready for the Dokapon Up stream at 09:00.
A week earlier, Kiyosen and I had a discussion on the time we should do the stream, because he lives in East Coast. Luckly it's only 12 hour difference, so we're good on that end. The thing is, it's almost holidays today was the only day we're both available, so we had this idea of doing the whole Dokapon session in one sitting. What we didn't expect was that it would take 6 frickin hours. And apparently, Kiyosen only do these long sessions with me, because I'm already familiar with Dokapon series (and the fact that our last collab session also took 6 hours over 2 days). But we still had a wonderful time, albeit we are both ended up exhausted.
Speaking of something that lasted 5+ hours, has anyone watched Ludwig's Chessboxing event this week? I watched the stream archive, and I must admit, it's pretty hype. I think I can understand my dad's obsession with boxing now to the point that I can forgive him for interrupting my Sunday morning animes for boxing matches when I was a kid. Now, if only I can channel that hype to completing Shura no Mon...
Anyway, here's the chapter. As usual, let me know if you find a mistake or any error. Next week (hopefully), will be a Tobari update.
Nanaten here wishing everyone a Happy Padoru month. A lot of things certainly happened this year. Lots of memories and moments we shared together. And what kind of a Vtuber I am if I don't make an attempt to monetize it?
So yeah, I'm planning on doing a retrospective stream where I look back on some of my best moments in the style of an Award Show. There'll be categories and you guys get to pick on the best moments. It's still on the planning stage, as I'm still dealing with the GPU/PSU situation. So far, the categories are:
Best out-of-context moment
Best running gag
Best story moment
Best jackass moment
Best tangent
Best explosion/scuff moment
Best guest-star/people-who-I-drag-into-my-stream
Best music video
Best manga translation
Best stream archive
If you guys have suggestions for other categories, let me know in the comments.
So here's the chapter. I'm keeping the post short because I'm preoccupied with some very personal stuff. Let me know if you find any error or mistake. I'll see you next time.
Nanaten here. So on the last update, I mentioned about finally getting a GPU and how excited I was on finally upgrading my setup. Well, here's how it went:
The GPU arrived the following Monday. I was at work, so they had to leave the package at my neighbors'. After work, I finally received the package. I opened it up, and it's RX 6650 XT. At last, after many failed attempts of saving up, I finally got a GPU. The box only came with the sealed GPU and 2-year warranty, no free games or anything.
5 PM. The GPU was unboxed and ready to install. But before that, I need to clean my CPU. It's been a while since I cleaned it after all. Dusts have accumulated (among other things). Just basic dusting, nothing much. I grabbed my makeup brush as it's the only soft brush I got and started dusting. 30 minutes later and my PC is clean (relatively). It is time to install the GPU.
Luckily, I asked my brother on how to attach a GPU to a motherboard, so there was no issue there. I slide the GPU to its slot. I heard a click. Then I plug the power supply pins. It required 8 pins, which I had found the correct cable and pins from the power supply. I also fixed the USB ports that got unplugged during moving. Then came the booting. I was absolutely nervous. All sorts of anxieties ran through my head. What if my PC doesn't boot? What if the GPU was faulty? What if I accidentally bricked my own setup? With full determination, I pressed the power button.
I saw my motherboard light up, followed by the GPU. I was relieved. I didn't mess up. My heart was racing. The screen showed past the booting screen and into the welcome screen. And then I noticed something. One of the GPU fans stopped spinning. The gpu still lit up. Anxious, I called my brother. I asked if there's something wrong. He said, "It's probably nothing. Have you installed the driver yet?" I tried to reach for the radeon software. Suddenly my PC turned off, giving me a mini heart attack. I booted up my PC again. As I was reaching to open my google chrome, it turned off again.
My brother and I are perplexed. So we checked every component. That was the moment we realized: my PSU only has 450W. RX 6650 XT requires minimum power of 600W. We messed up. I forgot to check my current power supply and budgeted the whole thing around the GPU.
So now I'm sitting in my room with my new GPU, and I can't even use it unless I upgrade my power supply as well. I spent all my money on that GPU. I even had to ask my brother for money to cover some of the costs. This whole ordeal left me feeling depressed. I had so many plans and ideas and streams I wanted to do for when I got my GPU. It's the whole feeling of "So close, yet so far away."
So here we are again. If you guys wish to help me with my situation, please consider donating through my Ko-fi page or through PayPal (links at the sidebar). My PC setup situation had gotten so bad, I couldn't even do a regular stream without risking a blue screen every time. I seriously need your help.
Anyway, that's the end of my 5 minute plea. I hope you have a wonderful time reading these chapters. And I'll see you one I'm emotionally recovered from this whole ordeal.
Happy spooky month. My first class started this week. It was alright.
Been doing a lot of catching up to my manga backlog the past few days. And I also discovered a bunch of manga. I noticed that I am more inclined to read manga on my phone instead of my PC ever since I moved. And I haven't been doing a Just chatting stream recently, so I'll be doing one tonight.
Another news: Community movie is finally happening. As you know, I'm a huge Community fan. And fans have been waiting for the Community movie to happen for quite some time now. But because of the availability of the actors, they couldn't make it happen. The closest thing we got was the virtual table read with the cast minus Chevy Chase. So, yeah, I'm very excited. THE PROPHECY HAS BEEN FULFILLED!!!
About this chapter: this is actually one of my favorite chapters. I really like the dynamic between Na-ta and Sa-ta, and there hasn't been that many stories with this pairing (I'm speaking in sitcom terms). As the oldest siblings, they have the responsibility over the younger ones. But that would sometimes clashes with Sa-ta's adventurous trait. Earlier stories would pair Sa-ta with A-ta, but now that A-ta starts visiting underground library on regular basis, he has no one to bounce off to. Also, this chapter shows how Na-ta is starting to grow his own interest by picking up swords training.
So here's the new chapter. As usual, let me know if you find any errors or mistakes. Next week (hopefully) will be Tobari update.
Nanaten here. I was suffering from a massive headache for some reason. But after an aspirin and a good night sleep, it has subsided.
This week's VOD: I signed up to test the demo of Platonic Studio's latest indie RPG Maker game.
I played the first game of the installment back in 2018, and I was excited to play the demo for a limited time. As of my thought of the game itself, I like that the series is more focused on the story this time around. The maps are more linear compared to the first game. And the art is a major upgrade. Unfortunately, due to lack of a graphics card, my pc was struggling with streaming the whole time. It was probably because the new RPG Maker engine that is more catered towards mobile ports. But as thanks, Platonic Studio sent me a couple of games, so I might play those next week.
So here's the chapter. As usual, let me know what you think of the chapter or if you find any mistake somewhere. Next week will be a Tobari update.
Nanaten here, still pissed about the Kominfo Kerfuffle. For those who is living under a rock, Indonesia's Ministry of Communication and Information or Kominfo passed a law that requires websites and internet services to register to their system, otherwise they will be blocked and inaccessible in Indonesia. Last week, they decided to blocked all major sites that hadn't registered. Major sites that were blocked include Steam, Epic Games, GitHub, Bing, Yahoo, and Paypal. SOG made a video explaining the whole kerfuffle and basic human rights, you can check it out here.
Understandably, Indonesians internet users were upset, especially gamers and freelancers. I always think myself as a pretty level headed person. Although streaming has made me more in tune with some of my pent up anger issues. But I never thought, there would be a time where I wake up and choose violence, until now. When I saw the news, I was fuming with anger. As someone whose half of their income comes from content creation, this felt like a personal attack. For the first two days, Kominfo didn't even do any sort of damage control. Instead they went on news outlet and started blaming the users, the blocked websites, and even justifies themselves by defending the some of the sites that did managed to pass their "screening" (which by the way, are gambling sites.)
The only positive thing that came out of it were the memes that came out to clown the incompetency of Kominfo. Which got me inspired to do a meme review stream, so I could vent about this whole kerfuffle (and probably end up in a government watchlist in the process).
Anyway, here's to hoping that this kerfuffle will soon be over and Indonesian can have their Internet freedom back.
About this chapter: so Corseltel officially gained two new residents. I sort of like their dynamic. One is a former drunkard obsessed with space and the other is a grumpy baby, yet the circumstances brought them together. They both have the same goal and are working towards it. They are welcome addition to the casts, even thought the cast is already large enough. But it does feel like a sense of progression, like the torch is slowly being handed over to the next generation.
So here is the chapter. As usual, let me know in the comments if you find any mistake or error. Next week will be a Tobari update.
Nanaten here and Happy Pancasila day for Indonesian peps reading this. We're already at the middle of 2022 and I'm at the point of torching down my room.
Now let me explain: recently, there's a bed bug outbreak in my bed and those things are a pain in the butt (figuratively and literally.) I've been losing sleep because those things keep biting me both in and out of bed. I couldn't focus at work because the bug bites itches so bad. I kept scratching and scratching till my skin bleeds. Just writing about it makes my skin crawl again.
I've been spending my week cleaning my room, but some tiny bed bugs still remain. So you understand my sentiment.
Enough of that. This week's VOD is from my first IRL stream last week:
I was testing StreamElements' android app where you can stream using your phone and have StreamElements overlay and alerts. I've always wanted to try doing IRL stream and show off some cool places around my hometown. I actually planned on doing another IRL stream tomorrow. So look forward to that.
Next stream VOD is an art trade stream that I did with Amewa Takahashi. In the stream, we tried to draw each other's fanart/ Sadly, there were a bunch of issues with my end of the stream, from my OBS constantly crashing, audio issues, to my PC suddenly crashes multiple times. So if you want to watch this, I suggest to watch Amewa Takahashi's VOD's for the first one hour and then back to my stream archive at minute 41.
Speaking of streaming, tonight at 9PM (GMT +8), I'll be doing a livestream where I'll be playing GYEE on android. I hope, you tune in on the stream and just say hello.
Tomorrow, I'll be streaming GYEE 🌈 I've always wanted to play this game and what better time to play it than during Pride Month?

About this chapter: Must. Protect. Nata's. Smile. At. All. Cost.
Last week, I was spending my time translating volume 5 despite not finishing volume 4. CnR is the series that I always fall back to when I get so stressed from other projects. It's that old childhood friend you've always known your entire life. I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for CnR. So for that, it'll always have special spot in my heart.
So here's the chapter. As usual, let me know if you find any error or mistake in the chapter. Also if you want to support me, there's a link to my Patreon and Ko-fi page. Patrons who pledge more than $3 get one-week early access to my latest translations. This week, we have Ake no Tobari chapters. Alright, I'll see you on the stream tonight.
Nanaten here. I have mentioned this in my Patreon post, but I can't help but to notice how I have different openings for each platform, except for patreon. Like for blog post, I would say "Nanaten here", or during stream I would say "Helloooo aaand welcome to the stream." I tried to say "Nanaten here" for a video or a stream before but it just didn't sit well with me.
I am currently having a mild cold because of the changing temperature and humidity. Like during the day, it would be a scorching 31 degrees and at night it would be raining at 26 degrees. My cold symptom wasn't that bad, so I only took half dosage of cold medicine. It got me through the day, but I still got the runs, on both ends. I remember soiling myself while taking a morning leak because of that.
To pass the time while at work, I would play Trash Taste podcast. One of my former co-workers would sometimes played their clips at the office/my living room. I was a Connor fan when another friend recommended his voice acting audition process video, so I was already familiar with one third of the members. I started to get into trash taste after I moved and worked at my parents cornfield. I just put my (brother's) headset and played the podcast as I farm corn.
I also spending the week accessorizing my Vtuber avatar. I just grab a couple of MMD accessories and put it on my model. They're only light accessories, but they give my model a little bit of texture, for the lack of better term.
This week's video is a stream archive from last week. I did another Pokemon Smash or Pass, this time on Gen 3 Pokemons. Unfortunately, Amewa Takahashi couldn't join this time, so I had to ask another friend, ThePseudoIntellectual. Another unfortunate event, I was messing around with my OBS setting before the stream, which resulted in an absolute mess of a stream. The whole stream was compromised and deemed unusable. Luckily, ThePseudoIntellectual was also streaming, and he gave me his VOD to use for this video.
About this chapter: there was supposed to be a color opening pages courtesy of the magazine raws. Sadly, I didn't have time to procure them.
Anyway, here is the chapter. Let me know in the comments if you find any errors or mistakes. Next week will be Tobari update.
Nanaten here. I am completely done with my self quarantine. Still have minor coughs though, but lately it's less frequent.
I mentioned in my Patreon post last month that my dad got me a new job as the head of language lab at a local university at my hometown. That means that I would have to move out and therefore have no access to my brother's pc for cleaning and typesetting. I stayed at the city during February to get my things sorted out (and again, self quarantine). Immediately after my self quarantine was finished, I got a call from my dad that I have to go there to finalize the paperwork (and help out at the cornfield for harvest). So I packed my bags and move back in with my parents early this week.
So while I wait for my PC to get delivered, I would have to make do with my super old laptop. Not to worry though, I already had a couple of chapters scheduled for this month. I also have a new MMD video coming up next monday. So look forward to those.
I spent my self quarantine time playing Pokemon Legends Arceus. I don't have a Switch, so I played it on Yuzu emulator. It works well enough except for a couple of frame dips at the Jubilife Village and some minor graphical glitches. Somehow I couldn't get Vulkan rendering to work on my (brother's) PC. Right as I was about to face Palkia, the Daybreak update and Pokemon Scarlett and Violet were announced. I couldn't play too much of the Daybreak update because it was two days before I left for home. But I'm looking forward to Gen 9 pokemon.
I also worked on the V2 of my Vtuber model. I've been working on this since October after listening to Argama Witch's comment on my model during her stream. She said and I quote "the only thing original is the hair". So I decided to rework on the model materials. New hairstyle, eyes, and eyebrows. The next MMD video will be a showcase for the new model. So again, look forward to that.
About this chapter: when I was self quarantine, I forgot that I already had this chapter done. I think this chapter was meant to be released in case the donathon stream didn't pan out. So this story is a multi-chapter arc with two concurrent plot. In one hand, we have Agrina who is about to receive her first egg, on the other we have a new dark dragon mage coming to Corseltell for the dark dragon egg. If you've been following Goingsoloonce's livejournal, I posted a picture of Agrina, her dragon, the new dark dragon and its mage at his comment section. And with this, most of the new CnR-KM cast has arrived and basically I can proceed with the second volume of Illbeck. I'll probably do it once my PC arrives.
So here's the chapter. Let me know in the comment section below if you find any mistake or error.
