CnR-KM Vol. 3 Ch. 20

Nanaten here, just back from 4 hour stream. I'm starting to actually enjoy myself doing a bunch of livestreams throughout the week. But I still haven't forgotten about my translating duties, don't worry about it.

So I guess it's time for this week's VODs. The first one is a stream where I played One Hand Clapping, a game that you play by singing.

I especially had a great time with this one where I just get on the mic and make a bunch of random noises.

The VOD is the one that I just did before writing this post. It's an indie RPG Maker horror game called Ann. It was created by RongRong, an Indonesian animator who is famous for his "In a Nutshell" series. I was too scared to play this alone, so I had to call a friend and fellow Vtuber, Roach BC.

One of the main appeal of this game is that it has full animated cutscenes. Unfortunately, due to compatibility issues, I wasn't able to get them to play during the stream. Still, I highly recommend this if you are an RPG Maker horror fan.

And if watching over 3 hour VODs is not your thing, I got just the fix. Last week, I made new MMD music video. This time, it's a music video for Major Lazer's "Lean On". I knew I couldn't do this video alone, so I asked another Vtuber friend, Amewa Takahashi, to borrow his 3d model and import it to MMD.

About this chapter: We're halfway through volume 3, as the beginning of Summer approaches. This time, we have a story centered around Ma-ta. Ma-ta in my opinion is the least utilized character amongst the baby dragons. Aside from her crush on Kashi, we barely have any story centered around her. She gets paired with Ta-ta but even Ta-ta has a couple of stories of her own. So reading this chapter is an open welcome for me. Also the Bug Summer Spirit returns and he seems to be staying for a while. Although I'm not entirely comfortable with his crush on Ma-ta.

A little bit announcement: The fourth and latest Corseltel series, "Corseltel no Ryujutsushi Koryu Boukenki" came out this week with the digital version coming out upcoming Thursday. I am so excited for this new series ever since the announcement came out in April. From info I have gathered so far, there's going to be another timeskip and the dragons have grown to their early teenage form. The screenshots depict Sa-ta, Ta-ta, and A-ta outside of Corseltel looking for a new dragon mage. I can't wait to read the new series. I'll probably work on it alongside CnR-KM.

Nanaten here wishing everyone's a happy thanksgiving. I've been busy with paperwork for my graduation and taking academic journal translation commissions lately. I didn't have time to open my computer to translate any manga. I've been using my brother's pc to do my work and it's starting to annoy him.

This week's videos: The first one is the last Left4Dead2 campaign I recorded with Hoot and Chaz. In this campaign, we tried to see who can survive the bridge part of The Parish while we run for our lives.

The second video is the second episode of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure Abridged created by a good friend of mine, Thundermuffin. You remember him from his last Jojo's Bizarre Adventure in a Nutshell video last year where I voiced Koichi (fun fact: I decided to start watching Jojo because of that video).

About this chapter: I was planning to work on Kaiouki after so long, but because of the reasons I mentioned at the beginning, I didn't have the time to work on the script. However, before I finished on Corseltel volume 2 extras, I did finished the script of this chapter ahead. Also a little news, CnRKM has officially finished its run with Volume 14 went on sale this week. I really wish someone would give me the raws of all 14 volumes (or at least the last 4 volumes). But not to worry, a new Corseltel series is in the works. The new series will have another small time skip with the characters get a bit older. My speculation is that new generation of dragons will arrive in Corseltel. I can't wait for the new series.

Nanaten here. My sister made me watch Dynasty reboot on Netflix. Such shame that Empire isn't on Netflix as well..

This week's video is actually pretty special. I got pinged on Mavi Manga's discord server saying that one of the members created an interesting game. So I immediately called a couple of friends to play it with me.
I was so excited to play this game and upload it immediately, I tried to use Davinci Resolve to edit my video because my premiere pro isn't working anymore now that I upgraded my computer setup. It was pretty fun using Davinci's DAW to edit. I might be considering switching to that program from now on.

About this chapter: I don't really know what to say about this chapter. This is a rather short one, only 8 pages. I would love to have something else to accompany this update. But it'll always be a pleasant story. Plus, if you think this update is too short, you can always watch the video about. I'm sure it'll be an entertaining let's play.

Nanaten here. My brother had recently subscribed to Netflix and I've been spending the days watching comedy specials I couldn't torrent. I recently just finished Middledich and Schwartz. It's really funny. I wish I could improv. I tried it once for an audition a couple years ago. I forgot about the "Yes and..." part and completely botched my audition.

This week's video: me and a couple of Melon-nin friends did a cover of Kingdom Hearts 3

We've been working on this cover since the release of the game. I was in charge of the motion graphics for the video. And as you know, because of the HDD crash of 2019, I couldn't work on the video until a few weeks ago. We worked really hard on this cover, especially Ruby. This is my last cover that I do with the Melon-nins as we are disbanding. So please click on the video and leave a comment for Ruby telling her that I send you with lots of love. Thank you.

A big thing that happened this week: Patreon just announced that they will be implementing another sales tax on their pledges. As you probably suspected, that means there will be less income for me. If you wish to quit supporting me through Patreon because of this, I am not stopping you. For those who wish to keep supporting me, I suggest to use other platforms such as donations and Ko-fi. Random stuff: I finally convinced my sister to watch Community. But for some reason, they cut a bunch of stuff in the pilot episode. It probably had something to do with my sister's profile account/watch list. It's a shame though, because thanks to that she thought the pilot was bland. I did managed to convinced to keep watching, so that's nice. I am also very excited for the table read featuring the entire casts next week. I guess the movie is finally happening.

About these chapters: sometimes I feel like to align the release of my translated series to fit a certain theme. And for some reason, it happens more often with Corseltel. So this time we have another two Corseltel release. One is another booklet released in June 2006 and the other is Koryu Monogatari. Similar to previous release, the booklet actually contains two parts: one is a Q&A, only this time featured previous generation's trainee dragons, and the other is a short story. And just like previous booklet, the Q&A was re-released as an omake for Koryu Monogatari volume 2, so I skipped that again. I suggest to read the short story first before reading Koryu Monogatari chapter for continuity sake.

I looked up the booklets a couple of months ago and I was shoked to find that it costs 4000 yen a piece at Japanese online shops. I am thankful to Purple Candy for being an avid Corseltel fan and uploading those materials.

Nanaten here still have no quips to say in the opening. I recently realized that my inability to quip might have something to do with English being my second language. I tried a recording with friends the other day, and I completely flubbed my lines. I'm not sure the director would use my line at all.

Recently I got really into Sonic soundtrack after playing Sonic Generations. I'm currently low-key trying to get my brother to buy Sonic Collections on Humble Bundle while I'm saving to buy a new drive (priorities, amirite?). I might be doing a cover of Sonic songs someday.

Speaking of songs, thank you for the 1000 views on Youtube for our Kawaki wo Ameku cover video. Honestly, it's our fastest video to reach 1000 views. (I know none of you actually watches videos I put here, but I'm gonna act like you did.) So again, thank you. And if you missed the video from last week's post: here it is again.

About these chapters: So this week we have two Corseltel materials. The first one is the regular CnRKM chapter and the second one is the first booklet released for the series back in November 2005. One thing about these booklets, they are extremely expensive. I looked it up, and they cost 4000 yen each on Japanese sellers. Thankfully, a beautiful Taiwanese Corseltel fan, Purple Candy collects CnR stuff and uploaded them on her blog. So shout-out to her for basically using her rips without her permission. So this booklet contains two parts. The first part is a Q&A featuring other Dragon Mage's second dragons. It is later re released as a bonus for CnRKM volume 2, so I did not translate that part of the booklet since the CnRKM version are (slightly) better quality. The second part is a flashback featuring Milleu and Wilf about how they met. One thing I would like to point out is how Milleu's eyes were fine as a child. I guess several head trauma from falling affected his eyesight.

Nanaten here wishing everyone a Happy Holidays. So how is your holiday? I hope it was great, because I just spent this entire holiday typesetting these chapters. I only have myself to blame. I was supposed to finish these chapters months ago, but was so busy with recording Citrus Plays, school, and many more random projects that I forgot.

And last week, as we know, I had a video shoot, which turned out taking longer than it necessary. After that video shoot, I had another photoshoot scheduled. So I rode my bike through rain to the photo studio. After that photo shoot I finally got home. But turns out I still have two papers due for my finals. So I spent the next three days working on those papers, ride through what then was a five-day-continuous rain to turn in those paper. By the time I got home, it was already Thursday.

Needless to say, I got a sick around that time (I still am). Then I remember that I still haven't done an update for the holidays. Then I got a call on Saturday. Turns out they need me back on another location to reshoot for that stupid video.

It was only on Sunday morning that I started working on these chapters. As I was still sick, I typed and coughing every 5 minutes while listening to Onitsuka Chihiro songs. I thought it was going to be easy, but turned out Ake no Tobari chapter 104 took longer to clean and there was part I forgot to translate on Illbeck. By the time I finished those chapters it was already December 25th over here with these two chapters not done yet. So I have to split it in two parts.

But wait, Nanaten. If you finished updating Ake no Tobari and InS, then what is the second update chapters supposed to be? TCL? Shura no Mon? Toki? WoG? (I am so emotionally exhausted I'm typing to myself)

Remember the chapter I released last holiday? Well, turns out last year, I translated more than that and was saving it for this year. Ladies and gentleman, I present you for this holiday: CORSELTEL NO RYUUJUTSUSHI KORYUU MONOGATARI!!! (this is the part where everyone shrieks)

But wait, that's not all. We also have CORSELTEL NO RYUUJUTSUSHI MONOGATARI!!! (this is the part where you jump out of your chair).

I was saving these chapters for rainy days (which ironically, it did rain). Thankfully, unlike InS, I have completely translated these chapters (although did not typeset).

So many mixed emotions in this holiday updates (mostly exhaustion). But I want this Holiday season to be joyous. So here's the latest episode of Citrus Plays where I talked about that video shoot

That video itself is scheduled to come out today. I'll put it up in this post once it is uploaded.

I was invited to join several other Youtubers of Makassar once again to make our local youtube rewind. I was in Youtube Rewind Makassar last year as well, but this time, I have bigger roles. I played Backpack Kid in this video and did the make-up on several actors.

Nanaten here with the third installment of Holiday release. Special thanks to Purple Candy for the raws.

This is a booklet that came with volume 5 of CnRM (I think. I cannot read Taiwanese from Purple Candy's blog.) This sets after chapter 24 of CnRM. I decided to translate this because it's one of many rare CnR shorts that people haven't read yet because they are outside of the actual volume of the main series.

There are many extra material of CnR series I haven't read yet (guide book, art book, second and third drama CDs). Some of them were included in CnR-KM. This one is probably my favorite from CnRM.

In case if you noticed, I tried to translate the SFX as well. This is the first time I tried it. If you like it, let me know. I might try to do it on my other release as well.
