Nanaten here celebrating his birthday with... well, more work.

I've been going on a bunch of bussiness trips this past month that I had no time to translate Ake no Tobari chapter. Actually, I did. But I always so tired to post the chapter here that an entire month has passed without an update. And by the time I realized it, it's almost August.

I finally hit the big 30 this week. My body's been showing signs of old age. I'm getting backpains, lower stamina, and I look at online listings for good furnitures.

I worked on chapters 302-305 last month, before google photos got discontinued. When I tried to upload the chapters last week for chapters 306-307, there was trouble with the image upload, so the links for those chapters are unavailable.

Ake no Tobari Ch. 300-301 & CnR-KM Ch. 43

Nanaten here. A lot of things happened while I was gone. So let's go over it one by one

My Brother got Married

First, congratulations, my big bro and his beautiful wife. The prep work for the wedding was a nightmare and a half. Two wedding receptions in a span of one week. I sang "My Heart Will Go On" at the groom's part of the reception. Question for you guys: what's your go-to song to sing at a wedding?

I did a Collab with Ruang Obrol

A few days before the wedding, I posted a collab video with Ruang Obrol. We both are fans of Shura no Mon series, so we've always wanted to do a collab where we talk about it. However, because we live in completely different part of Indonesia, we couldn't do it, until now thanks to the power of technology. In my part of the collab, we talk about Fudekage, the first manga series I've ever completed.

While on Ruang Obrol's channel, we talk about Shura no Toki volume 16 and 17.

I finished Ace Attourney: Spirit of Justice

So I could've posted this last week. The reason I forgot to do that is because I was playing Ace Attourney: Spirit of Justice. It was a fun game. The spirit vision (or whatever it was called) mechanic was so frustrating on later cases, that I had to consult to a guide. But regardless, I had a wonderful time. I'm still contemplating whether I should play the original triology or skip to the Great Ace Attourney.

About these chapters

I can't believe we're already at chapter 300. This series has become a huge part of my life for the past 8 years. And I hope it is a huge part of your guys lives too. I planned a bunch of stuff to commemorate this milestone. Our Ake no Tobari merch is available on our Fourthwall shop. Please buy it and send me some pictures of them on discord server or twitter once they arrive.

Alright, here are the chapters. I'll see you guys next time, hopefully soon.

Nanaten here absolutely forgetting that I have a scanlation blog to manage. My brother's wedding planning has been hectic. The wedding is in two weeks. I barely have time to rest. And oh, my cats full of fleas, which transfers on to my bed, resulted in me getting less sleep because they keep biting me in my sleep. My entire body is covered in bug bites and scars from scratching.

Ake no Tobari Merch is up

If you've not been watching my youtube channel or my patreon page, I am proudly to announce that I have an online store over at https://nanaten-shop.fourthwall.com/

We have some cool merch to celebrate the upcoming Ake no Tobari chapter 300. We got T-shirts, prints, mug, hoodies. And we're planning on producing even cooler stuff should everything goes well.

If you sign up on my patreon page, you can get a 10% discount code for your purchase.

I made a music video

Early this month, they released a Live Action TV Special of Great Teacher Onizuka called "GTO Revival". It's a continuation of the 1998 live action adaptation of Great Teacher Onizuka. This particular adaptation holds a special place in my heart. The 1998 live action was the first adaptation of the original manga, preceeding the anime. It was the first GTO media I watched as a kid back in the early 2000s. The story touched me in a core level, it legit inspired me to take a carreer path in teaching. So when hearing about the GTO Revival featuring the returning cast from that particular adaptation, you can tell how excited I was.

Back in 2018, I did a cover of the theme song of the live action series. It was well received. When the announcement of the TV special came around, the view count of that cover skyrocketted. That being said, I wasn't satisfied with the video because of the filter I put on it. So with the Revival series in mind, I thought of remaking the cover with a full blown music video.

Also I watched the TV Special. It was alright.

Ake no Tobari Ch. 296-297 & CnR-KM Ch. 41

Nanaten here. How is everyone doing? It's been a while. Anyway, here's the things that you've been missing:

Did another online appearance at Midtown Festival

I was invited once again to participate in a Karaoke event. This time I sang Sleep Walking Orchestra from Delicious in Dungeon. Speaking of, I remember one of the early review I made on this blog was Delicious in Dungeon volume 1. Unfortunately, it got taken down because of DMCA. Actually, a lot of my manga reviews in this blog got DMCA's a couple of years ago smh.

Doing one youtube short everyday

I wanted to gather a way to get more views and more subscriber on youtube. So I took one of Jason Thor's advice and make one youtube short every single day for the entire month. I noticed a significant jump in views and subscribers. The short is mostly a simple one, like twitch clips, or beat saber gameplay. Playing beat saber is such a good youtube shorts content generator in general. Hopefully I can gather enough to get youtube membership this year.

Preparing for my brother's wedding

For the past couple of months, my family has been planning for my brother's wedding. We took a roadtrip to visit the bride's family and get to know the in-laws. It was my first time meeting her, as when my brother started dating, I already moved out. One particular thing I remember from our first meeting is that she mentioned how she watched one of my youtube videos.

"Which one?" I asked.

I can't believe I rode 250 km on my scooter for this shit. Still, she seems like a pleasant fellow.

Ake no Tobari is close to 300 Chapters!!!

Yo, what a milestone! Three hundred chapteroos!! It's been eight years since I started working on this series. And we're getting closer and closer to the end. I already downloaded all of the remaining raws. Which is fortunate because Comico decided to paywall the majority of the chapters starting this month. When this series is done, I'm cutting all ties with that app/website.

To celebrate the 300 chapters I want to do something special. Starting with making commemorative T-shirts of Tobari and Reimei. I already commissioned an artist to come up with the design and I'm looking for a maker so you guys can order it internationally. I would also like to do a commemmorative stream where I invited a bunch of friends and we would do an online table read of the comic. Right now, I'm looking for participants. So look forward to that.

Onto the chapters

As per usual, let me know if you find any error or mistake in the chapter. Okay, I'll be working on Ake no Tobari chapter 300.

CnR-KM Vol. 6 Ch. 40

Nanaten here with the first post of 2024.

Okay, bye....

Joke aside. I have been extremely busy, that it took me a whole two weeks just to finish this chapter. So let's start from the top:

Our VCB 2023 entry is up

I participated in Vintange Chorus Battle as a ringer for this team, Six of Hearts. Our entry for the first round is Queen of Hearts. Recording this was kinda tough. There was a lot of code switching between Japanese and English involved; some awkward phrasings; and we couldn't decide on the instrumental to use. Truth to be told, I wasn't very satisfied with the final product. But at least it wasn't the worst entry in the CB.

Nanaten Awards 2023 is coming

Oh shoot, I forgot to announce it here, didn't I? So, yeah. Just like last year, we're doing another award show type of thing that also coincides with my third vtuber anniversary. The voting period is ending today. So I was a little bit late to announce it. Whoops.

Anyway, if there is still time, please go ahead and pick your favorite stream moments here.

About this chapter:

Before you proceed with this chapter, please make sure you've read the spin-off Illbeck no Seireijutsushi as next two volumes details the event of that manga from the perspective of the dragon mages. This is the volume that I am most excited about. I love crossover chapter, especially when it's tied to the character arc. Usually, manga crossovers are considered non-canon; characters meet, interact, and never get referenced again; mostly due to  the opposing nature of the respective series. But not this one. In this volume, we get the explanation on why the dragon mages appeared the way they did in the spin-off series. There are some hilarious expalanation, and they all tied to the overall lore of the series.

Also, the entire spin off was published between volume 5 and 6. So if we're going by publishing date, that's the reading order.

So anyway, here is the chapter. As usual let me know if you find any mistake or error in the chapter. Next week will be an Ake no Tobari update.

Oneshot: I am not Me

Nanaten here wishing everyone a happy holiday. I am currently spending it with my brother at the city. I've been so busy this past week, that I think I deserve myself a little R&R at the city and just hanging out with my friends so here are the stuff I did.

Did a Graduation Ceremony Livestream

I was a part of the graduation commitee for my campus and I volunteered to manage the livestream. This is my first streaming a live event, and my first time directing a livestream. I feel like all my experience of doing events and livestreaming on twitch has led me to this moment. And the result is... pretty okay, I guess. There were some hiccups and equipment failures, along with miscommunication with the camera crew. But overall, it's a pretty decent stream. Will probably doing more campus events.

Butchered Snow Halation at a live Karaoke event

I went to a live Karaoke session at a Cosplay event. Usually when I do this sort of thing, I would participate as my vtuber avatar as I couldn't be there in-person. But this time, since I am at the city, might as well go. Originally, I planned on singing Ch4nge by Giga, but I got peer pressured into singing Snow Halation. But, since I don't care about Love Live franchise, I thought might as well do a little bit of trolling. So I tried to sing Snow Halation but it's actually Baka Mitai

Except I butchered the Baka Mitai portion as well. I completely missed the vocal cue therefore messed up sections of the song. By the end of it, I just moaning "Baka mitai" over and over again. But it's still a fun experience. Will do it again next holiday season.

Played Beyblade for the first time in 20 years

Hung out with my old TCG buddies. The tcg community has a new hangout place which fortunately, is pretty close to my brother's. So I visited the place and just catch up with them. It's fascinating how much the TCG has evolved after the pandemic. For starters, I didn't know that there's a localized version of Cardfight Vanguard. I might consider coming back to Vanguard once the Bermuda Triangle support gets localized. Fun fact: Did you know that Citrus Project first started as a Cardfight Vanguard team? It was comprised of players with decks built solely on the kawaii factor. That team has long been disbanded, but their legacy lives on.

Another thing that's really popular at that place is beyblade apparently. I used to play it when I was a kid with the original anime. Back then, we played bootleg beyblade using a wok as an arena. Today, with Beyblade Burts, the local beyblade community is on the rise. I looked at some of the parts and I was baffled that they're available in booster pack. Like somehow, Takara Tomy managed to turn beyblade into a gacha game. So I decided to play for a round. And I must say, I get the hype. Pulling the string to let it rip has never felt so satisfying. I might actually start getting into it.

Saw The Boy and The Heron

Right before the writing of this post, I went and saw the new Ghibli movie, The Boy and The Heron, with my brother. My impression: it was alright. Some say it's his best work, but I wouldn't put it in top 5. I get the theme and metaphores Hayao Miyazaki was trying here, but to me some of the scenes feel like treading old threads to some of his more notable works. There's nothing groundbreaking, imo. Still, I had an enjoyable time watching it. I laughed at some of the scenes. It was a good time. Definitely gonna check out the English dub as well. I mean, Robert Pattison as the Heron? Sign me up.

About this manga

So we're doing something different. This is a one-shot manga by Yuto Oseri, Boku ga Boku Janai (I am not Me). It was published back in June at Shonen Jump+. I was browsing through rawkuma when I stumbled upon this one-shot. And I liked it so much. I mean, if I didn't I wouldn't have translated it like this.

Translating this one-shot took me a couple of weeks, cleaning and typesetting included. I thought I could finish it in one day, but I overestimated myself. Still, I'm happy the final product turned up the way it would.

So here is the one-shot. As usual, let me know if you find any error or mistake in there. Happy holidays.

Kaiouki Vol. 13 Ch. 40

Nanaten here wishing everyone a happy holidays. I just finished translating a one-shot manga. You can read it over at my patreon page, or watch my twitch VOD. Please follow me on twitch T_T I beg you.

Alright, I won't bother you guys anymore. I'm just here to drop this chapter cuz right after this, I'm gonna stream Summon Night. See you later.

Kaiouki Chapter 40: Read Online | Donwload

It's been a while

Nanaten here wishing everyone a happy (belated) Turkey Day. Now time to sing Padoru for the next 30 days:

How have you guys been? I can't believe it's been three months since the last update. A lot has and hasn't changed since then. So why don't we catch up?

I was depressed

You know how one bad day can just send you to a deep end? One particular day back in October, I took L's after L's. In the span of twenty four hours, I: had the worst experience at a local DMV, lost my dad's money, my job application didn't fall through because of weird technicality, my gacha pull was a dud, and my stream got copyrighted. All those (and more) happened on a single day and I just couldn't handle it. The next couple of days, I just stared at my bedroom ceiling. I thought I could pull through, but the thing about grief is that it comes in waves. Just when I thought I got out of it, another wave crashes through. Next thing I know, I was shedding a tear while watching a Drawfee compilation.

During that period I had this constant pressure from everyone around me. Streaming was my only creative outlet. But I see that streaming on youtube lead to nowhere. Which leads to the second headline:

I'm on Twitch

I guess this is old news by this point: Twitch announced that they finally allows simulstream to other platforms. So I thought, why the heck not? I'd considered streaming on twitch, but I couldn't just leave my (almost nonexistent) audience on youtube. This simulcast allows me to gain more followers on twitch, while still making content on youtube. And, since I'm simulcasting, the VODs goes straight to youtube. No fuss no muss.

So yeah, I stream at least once every weekend. I play games, discuss manga, and work on my manga translation there. If you wanna say hi, just go to https://twitch.tv/citrus_nanaten and I'll see you there.

A bunch of covers

During that depression period, one of my creative outlet besides straming was singing. And there was one song that actually got me through that experience: the ending theme of "Saint Cecilia and Pastor Lawrence," 『Tokosiesta』 by Sasanomaly. I haven't watched the anime. The song just landed on my youtube feed, and I just fell in love with it.

I did another Sasanomaly cover a month prior, and people seem to like it. One comment actually suggested me to do more. So I did.

And here's another cover of Yukopi's meme song:

Funny thing: so a Youtaite named Kai host a monthly watch party called Youtaite Rewind where people send their covers they uploaded that given month to listen to. During September and October, I send the Sasanomaly covers and both times the songs got the stream content claimed and blocked worldwide. While people seem to enjoy the covers, I am sincerely sorry that the VODs got blocked.

New Patreon Credit Page

Gone are the monthly patreon shoutout in this blog. All of the Patreon shout-out are now done in a credit page in the download zip files. I took some inspiration (if not entirely ripping off) Souseki scans patreon shoutout page. So if you guys wanna check it out, you can download the zip files, or read the chapters on mangadex.

Okay, now that you've all caught up with the going-ons in the past three months, you may proceed with the chapter. I still wanna talk more about the lower back pain I'm currently suffering at the moment of writing this post, but the pain prevents me from elaborating any further. So, let me know if you find any error or mistake in the chapter in the comments below. I'll see you next week.

CnR-KM Vol. 5 Ch. 38

Nanaten here getting ready for a school staff retreat. My eyes are super dry right now.

Recently I've been really into The Legend of Luo Xiaohei, a Chinese web animated series, and its extended universe. I saw a clip of The Legend of Hei, the animated movie prequel of the webseries, on youtube, and immediately in love with the series. If you haven't watched it yet, I highly recommend you guys to do so. For the following week, I was struck with that lethargic feeling you get after finishing a long-running series and incapable to move on. What was the last series you watch/read that gives you that feeling? Let me know in the comments.

Other random news: they just announced that an anime adaptation of Haigakura by Takayama Shinobu (Amatsuki) is officially in the works. The announcement was leaked a couple of weeks back by MangaMogura. It was one of the highlights of that week for me. I've been a huge fan of Takayama Shinobu since I read Amatsuki back in highschool. And I've read their other works as well: Haigakura, Mr. Morning, Mr. Applicant, etc. I even cosplayed as Ichiyou, the main character of Haigakura, in 2015. It was one of my first cosplay I've ever done. So yeah, so excited for the anime and finally have my old costume relevant again.

So here's the chapter. As usual, let me know if you find any error or mistake. I'll see you once I'm back from the retreat.

Ake no Tobari Ch. 282-283

Nanaten here, feeling tired most of the week, but nonetheless very excited. That is until I heard about the devastating wildfire raging in Maui. My good friend and fellow Vtuber Cooky Usagida lives in Hawaii and some of her friends actually live in Maui. So I just wanna help spread the words. Luckily, @chiliflakess created a thread on mutual aid sites to help with the donation and relief. Please consider donating!

Now on to the stuff I've been doing this week. This week, I participated in Makassar Creative Expo J-Karaoke contest as my Vtuber persona. I asked the organizers if I can join as a Vtuber, and they said yes. I had to pre-record my performance, which I ripped from my birthday concert. From the clip my friend sent me, it went very well. I also received a wonderful news early this week. I'm doing a massive project and it will come out in December. If it goes well, it could change the trajectory of my Vtubing.

Other random stuff: This week, Manga Mogura leaked of a news about anime adaptation of Haigakura, a manga by Takayama Shinobu (Amatsuki). I've been a fan of Takayama Shinobu's works since back in highschool. And I love Haigakura. One of my early cosplay was the main character from the manga. I still have the costume in my brother's place. It's still hasn't been officially announce yet, but I'm still excited nonetheless. This news actually carried me all week.

Speaking of anime adaptations: the first teaser trailer for Sengoku Youko just dropped and, ho boy, am I extra hyped. I talked on stream about how I'm a Mizukami Satoshi fan and how excited I was back when they announced Lucifer and Biscuit Hammer anime. And like most Mizukami fan, how disappointed I was when the anime came out. I couldn't even finish the anime. But seeing the teaser trailer for Sengoku Youko made me hopeful of the adaptation. And the fact that White Fox studio is adapting the entire manga over the course of 3 cours gets me even hyper.

I still remember the night I read the final chapter of Sengoku Youko. Me and my friends were organizing an English Language camp and we had a talent show that night. I was just sitting in the back of the stage reading the live TL session at 4chan. Each refresh, a new page got translated. And when the final page where the characters said goodbye to the readers, I look around to the people at the camp, and just take in the scenery. That moment, of saying goodbye to the world and characters you've been following for years, and their journey. Just appreciating that moment and that feeling of being surrounded by the things that you love. I think that's how I'm going to feel when I finally finish translating Ake no Tobari.

So here are the chapters. As usual, let me know in the comments if you find any error or mistakes in the chapter, or just hit me up on my discord server. See you later.

CnR-KM Vol. 5 Ch. 37 + Maria's Curse announcement

Nanaten here! I think we all can agree that Twitter's rebranding to X is a colossal fuck up, right? Okay, cool.

This week, I uploaded my cover of Fantasy on soundcloud. It's been a while since I check out my soundcloud page and some of the comments I get there were pretty harsh. And then I decided to give my old covers a listen. And you know what? They're right. What was I thinking back then when I uploaded those covers? I must've thought that I was some hot shit back then. Like, bruh, you don't even sing it at the right key. Comparing my old cover and newer ones, there's an improvement there, however subtle it is. The vocal training does pay off. Thanks, coach.

Oh, right, my birthday! I celebrated my birthday a couple of weeks ago. And as you know, I did a birthday concert.

Setting up this concert took me a couple of months. From picking up the setlist, recording the songs, doing motion capture, etc. Mostly the time I spent on working on the A.I. voice models of me and my friends to use. I already have permissions from all my content creator friends who were kind enough to provide me with their voice to train their a.i. with. But for some reason, my a.i. was completely broken. I must've overtrained it, because my a.i. voice came out like it had speech impediment. It just gave up on pronouncing consonants. I might going to have to redo my a.i. model. But now that my birthday is over, I'll probably refrain from using a.i., and instead just use my actual vocal.

Recently I've been busy with helping with my town's preparation for Indonesian independence day. I was selected to be a committee to train kids for the independence day ceremony. I mostly help with the administrative side of things, and show up during rehearsal from time to time. If this event goes well, fingers crossed, I might be able to upgrade my computer so I can stream properly. That is if I don't go broke from commissioning artists for stuff.

During my birthday concert, I commissioned artists to do some key visuals and channel logo. After one and two commissions, I might be getting addicted to it. It really doesn't help too due to the fact that hiring domestic artists is a whole lot cheaper (like seriously, the key visual art for my concert only cost $5). And recently, I commissioned an artist to make a bunch of stickers for my discord (and for the low low price of $2, hell yeah). No more blackmailing my artist friend into doing my bidding.

Anyway enough of that, let's talk about Maria's Curse. Thanks to everyone's support, Maria's Curse one shot manga actually won the preliminaries of the one-shot tournament to the final round. So many comments and support on the app from fellow Ake no Tobari fans. But, we're not done yet! There's one more voting round for the final! The procedure is similar to the previous one. Go to Ganma's twitter account, and retweet the manga! Or go to the manga's page on Ganma app, and leave a comment there. The voting period ends on August 13. And as an incentive, Momochi Dori-sensei actually posted a bunch of illustrations and short manga on their twitter page, which I also translated in this post. So please, give it a go!

So here are the chapters, it was Saturday when I started writing this post, and as it's already Sunday by the time this post is uploaded.

As usual, let me know in the comments or discord if you find any error or mistake. I'll see you next week.

Illbeck Epilogue (+crossover chapter) & Ake no Tobari Ch. 280-281

Nanaten here. Again, been so busy with my Birthday celebration that I forgot everything else. I was supposed to record a bunch of skits for the birthday concert, but I got a call at literally 6 am this morning by my dad to go help with the corn harvest and it is now 11:38pm. The concert is in 6 days and I still need to clean up the motion capture animations.

Oh, for those who hasn't seen my twitter or my patreon posts: yeah so my birthday is coming up in a week, and to celebrate, I'm going to do a virtual birthday concert thing on my youtube channel. I have so many things done leading up to it, so let me give you guys a rundown.

1. Citrus Project Discord Server is now open

After contemplating it for the past couple of months, I finally decided to make Citrus Project's official discord server. In this server you can get the latest updates on all of my projects, chat and discuss your favorite manga, and other cool stuff. Patrons will get a special role and access to patrons only channel where I post exclusive content and sneak peek. So go ahead and click the link down below to get started.

2. A bunch of A.I. Covers

For the past couple of months, I've been really interested in making A.I. covers. At first, I only make an A.I. model of myself so that I can save time recording a cover. But then I started to make A.I. models of my friends (with their permission, of course). The idea is that I would use these A.I. covers for the birthday concert. I did a stream where I showcased some of the A.I. covers I'll be using for the concert. So here's a preview of one of the songs:

I've been trying to do a cover of Daybreak Frontline for years now, but I could never get the vocal timing right, even with the Mwk remix which was a slow ballad. Thankfully, with the help of a.i. I can do a cover of the song. Working on this cover also sent me down to a SynthV rabbit hole. Long story short, Genbu is now my husbando (jk).

As an equal measure, I posted a second a.i. cover
Fun fact: this is actually the first A.I. cover I worked on. It was meant to be a.i. model showcase for me and my friend, Cooky Usagida. This was posted a while later because of the motion capture and video editing. For the motion capture, I used XR Animator that allows me to capture motion using my camera and export it in VMD format. The program also supports mixamo motion, so I combined both motions together and this is the final results.

There's actually a third a.i. cover video I just made last night. But the video won't be available for public until I received the permission from an artist whose illustration I use for the video. But, the private link to the video is available on my discord server.

3. Birthday gift and messages submission

I'm also holding this event on twitter and on my discord server where you can submit birthday messages and gifts using google form. You can submit gifts such as illustrations, videos, and other cool stuff by clicking the image down below or this link. All submission will be showcased at the concert event. So be sure to read the rules beforehand.

So, yeah, so excited for the birthday event. Again, the concert will be broadcasted on my youtube channel. Probably going to do a watchalong stream as well on discord. Can't wait to talk to you guys there! And oh, here's the thumbnail illustration for the concert. Shoutout to @takahiro_abd for the illustration.

Maria's Curse (One-shot manga by the Author of Ake no Tobari)

Nanaten here! I've been so busy preparing for the #NanatenTurnsAnotherYear birthday concert, I actually forgot to do any script this month. However, I found a manga that actually wants to make me translate it and typeset it on the same day. Mostly because of the strict deadline nature of how I want to support this series.

So this is Maria Ju (Maria's Curse, the Ju for curse as in "Jujutsu Kaisen"), a brand new one-shot by Momochi Dori-sensei, a.k.a. the author of Ake no Tobari. They are finally back with a brand new story after the completion of Tobari (and tons of recuperations). The story is about this highschool couple who has to fight a demon who broke out of its seal.

My first impression is a bit rough. It is an odd feeling having to transition of reading Momochi Dori's work from webtoon format to regular manga format. Well, the lack of color, for one. But the story is more slow paced compared to Tobari despite having more panel count in comparison. But it's a welcome change nontheless.

I also like how this manga is has more focused on romance. I mean, the bromance in Ake no Tobari is one of the main selling point, ngl, but the series never went on that angle (not yet as of my point in the translation anyway). I like the fact that the main male lead, Kiyotsugu, is essentially a himbo. And the contrast between the lead just gives a unique charm, as clichΓ© as it might be. Also, the fact that the leads are already an established couple is kind of a breath of fresh air.

You can watch the VOD of the typesetting process here:

Anyway, if you guys want to see this manga gets serialized, please be sure to leave a comment on the Ganma! app page of the manga. I leave the tutorial on how to register an account on the stream. Or you can retweet this. Help this manga get serialized!!!

Another announcements: I made a discord server! I had a lot of discussion on how to increase my engagement with my audience, and considering that I've been falling off this couple of months, I decided to go hail mary and create my own discord server. There, you can join and chat, and discuss your favorite manga together, and maybe join a VC session or two! Just click the link here or use the qr code to join the server now!

So here is the chapter. As usual, let me know if you find any mistake or error in the comments below (or actually just hit me up on discord).

Illbeck Finale & Ake no Tobari Ch. 276-279

Nanaten here. I've been experiencing a bunch L's this past couple of weeks that I almost lost my entire drive and replacing them left a dent on my financial situation. So let's start my rant from the top.

It all began during a Dokapon Kingdom Connect colab stream I did with Kiyosen, Sergent, and Stef earlier this month:

We've been planning this colab ever since the game was announced. Kiyosen even ordered some equipment so I can play on his switch remotely. The preparation was going great, until I discovered something. Two days before the colab stream, I found that termites have been eating away my cabinet that I also use as a PC workstation. The damage was so bad, it took out 30% of the cabinet. I had to make emergency repair for the colab stream. (sidenote: I fell down the stairs the day before the stream and landed on my hip, so add that to the L count)

The colab stream had a rocky start. We had to deal with tech issues like setting up the obs ninja for everyone, and connecting the switches. But after we started the game, it was a smooth sailing. Around 40 minutes into the stream, my father comes into my room with insecticide spray, spraying insecticide all over my room with me still inside mid-streaming. Luckily, the insecticide didn't get inside my water tumbler. As for the game itself, we lost to Sergent and I got a prison tattoo.

After the stream, I sprayed my room with the rest of the insecticide. Of course, I took my electronics out of the room before I did it. My room was soaked with insecticide and some of them actually got to my skin (that's what I get for spraying insecticide without gloves). Anyway, after everything was done I put all of my equipment back and tried to turn on my PC. Everything was fine.

Next day however, as I tried to download the VOD off youtube, I noticed that my computer was running very slow and the footage just won't download. I tried a couple of times until my computer suddenly froze and gave me a bunch crashes. I restarted my computer and suddenly my entire drive partition just disappeared from the system. I took it to a shop to check on the HDD, and they couldn't detect the partition on their setup. I had a major panic attack, because it's a 2TB hdd and all of my streaming assets was in there. Luckily that week, I was planning on upgrading my laptop's SSD. So out of panic, I put an additional purchase of a new HDD. I slightly went down on a SSD/HDD rabbit hole on what I should get and said screw it and get an RX7 1TB SSD (the cheapest one on the market) for the laptop, and WD Blue 4TB HDD to replace the 2TB HDD (there goes my CPU upgrade budget). While waiting for the SSD and HDD to arrive, I tested my PC again. Turns out it wasn't the HDD that caused my pc to freeze, it was the OS SSD. So I had to make ANOTHER SSD purchase on top of the other orders. And because I wasn't paying attention, I purchased Adata SU650 that doesn't have a DRAM, so that's another L.

Anyway, It wasn't until last Sunday, all of them arrived. So I cloned my PC SSD first because I wanted to check on the original HDD to see if my data was actually salvageable. After the os was cloned to new SSD, I plugged my HDD and the partitions still weren't there. Then I had a realization. I went to disk management and turns out, the partitions were still there. They're just wasn't assigned with a drive letter. Unfortunately, the readings of the HDD on crystal disk info shows caution, so that still justifies my HDD purchase. Everything was fine and dandy, that is, until the next day.

So I backed up that HDD to my new drive, reformatted my old drive and put the original files back to the drive (the crystal disk info still shows uncorrectable sector despite everything). And I was ready to put both drives into my current setup. Then, I tried to boot the PC and I get an A2 error and it won't boot. This time it's the NEW HDD that has the problem. The drive is still usable if I plug it after the windows boots, it just gives me the A2 error when I boot it with the drive still plugged in. I tried resetting my CMOS, changing the SATA cable, changing the port, but it keeps giving the the A2 error. So I contacted the seller and they said they can take a look at it but then I would have to send the HDD to the store which means I will going to take another 2 weeks AND additional delivery costs to the store. Right now the new drive is sitting next to my PC because I couldn't afford the delivery cost because all that purchase left my wallet empty.

Anyway, sorry for that rant. I feel a lot better now. The drives actually come with warranty, it's just the shipping cost to claim that warranty that annoys me. Here's an MMD dance video to cool off.

I'll save my thoughts on Illbeck finale when I finished the epilogue on tonight's stream.

Ake no Tobari Ch. 273-275

Nanaten here. I've been spending a couple of weeks moving and deleting data on my hard drive so I can finally play PSO2 NGS again. I haven't played PSO2 since the initial launch of NGS, and wow, there's a lot of content to catch up on. I've been spending the past 2 weeks playing PSO2 in my free time and I still haven't finished the story missions yet. If you guys wanna say hi, I'll be at Ship 3.

Youtube-wise, I've been uploading a bunch of shorts lately. There's this program called Varkshorts where you can put your VRM avatar and make short videos from their templates. It's really fun. One of the available video template is a parody of Mafia Wars app, and that sorts of gave birth to an elaborate late April Fool's prank.

So anyway, here are the chapters. As usual, let me know in the comments if you find any error or mistakes. Next week will be an Illbeck update. Alright, I'm off playing PSO2.

I forgot to upload these chapters

Nanaten here. Sorry that I haven't been around here for so long. I got caught up in real life stuff every weekend that I completely forgot to update a post here even though I still post stuff on my patreon that redirects to this blog. So I'm just gonna write stuff that I've already written on my patreon post anyway in chronological order.

I released a "The First Take" cover

or more like "The First Take" style cover video:

I'd been working on this cover for years and It's now released. Special shout-out to @Notaseaturtle for helping me with the mixing and arrangement. The cover turned out absolutely amazing and I'm really quite proud of the end result. For more explanation on the behind-the-scene stuff, just go to my patreon.

I went to a cosplay event for the first time since the pandemic

At the beginning of March, I went along with my parents to visit my brother at the city. During the weekend, I got to go to a cosplay event. first time I've ever been ever since the pandemic. I haven't seen my cosplayer friends in so long. I saw some new faces in the local cosplaying scene and all their costumes were amazing. I was invited to enter the event's J-Song cover competition as my Vtuber persona and it was an experience. While I enjoyed my time at the event, going there alone and not cosplaying did take out half of the excitement. I plan on going to another cosplay event at the city with my brother and cousins in a couple of weeks. Maybe I'll enjoy my time more then.

I got measles

Right after that trip to the city, my father contracted measles, which, a week later, passed on to me. I had the fever, headaches, and blisters all over my body. I was pretty much out of commission for one and a half week. I was mostly recovered at the final Monday of the month, but on the way home from work, I got caught in the passing rain and ended up with a cold which left me out of commission again for the rest of that week.

I went to teacher training program (+Ramadhan)

As soon as I recovered from my cold, I registered for a training program for University lecturer. The program took a couple of weeks which took my entire concentration to attend. But all in all, it was worth it. I gained so many insights on how to better plan my lessons. But still, writing up the report for some of the program assignments were nightmare, especially during Ramadhan cause I was too famished from feasting to actually do anything.

Toranosuke's Birthday

April 10th is the birthday of Toranosuke from Umakawa manga. So to celebrate that, I decided to translate some of the manga Miku Morinaga sensei drew on her twitter page. I did tease about it a couple of years ago when I just finished translating Umakawa. And seeing everyone's reception of the chapters on mangadex makes me glad that this manga is still haven't been forgotten. It's quite touching, really.

Eid Mubarak (+Rocket League)

Which leads us to the end of Ramadhan, a.k.a. Eid'l Fitri, a.k.a. that time of the year my mom cooked too much staple food and our household must suffer the consequences. Earlier this month, my mom bought a refrigerator because our previous one was too small for her to store food. But she's too much of a miser to give up the other fridge, so now the house has two running refrigerators. Boy, can't wait till the electric bill comes out.

Anyway, my siblings came to visit, and we did a lot of catching up. My cousins also came by and with them are their children, which means it's my job to keep them entertained. So I just put them all in my room and had them play video games, mostly Rocket League. Most of those kids have never heard of Rocket League before as their young mind are more accustomed to either Minecraft (on android, to boot), Mobile Legends, or casual mobile games. Young kids these days, amirite?

So I've been spending my time playing Rocket League on casual plays. I tried competitive, but I got owned every match. One of my friends, Rukku, wanted me to play as he's the most experienced Rocket League player in our circle of Vtuber friends. But considering our region differences, and my potato pc, I think it'll be a while before we can do a rocket league collab stream together.

CnRKM Vol 5 Ch. 35

Nanaten here wishing everyone a (belated) happy Valentine's day. Probably should've made the message the previous week, but just like everything else in this blog, everything is always one week late.

Speaking of something that I should've announced last week: I'll be doing a concert livestream this Sunday to celebrate my 2nd Vtuber Anniversary.

I say concert, but it's more like an over glorified karaoke stream. I didn't actually plan on doing any stream this week. I was supposed to be on a retreat with my school's faculty staff, but because of the constant rain, we had to cancel. And since I'll be (surely) busy starting next week, this week is the only chance. Also remembering that my Vtuber anniversary was one month late anyway, I see why the heck not.

Anyway, let's rewind back to the Valentine's Day video I made with a bunch of friends:

We did a Singles game night where we tried to play Red Flags, but the recording session was so scuffed, it took us over 2 hours just to setup the game. Of course we played another game in those two hours, so look forward to that video. We had fun during recording, so much that we're thinking of making it a regular thing.

Random stuff: I forgot to mention this last week when talking about Korean webtoon I've been reading recently: Lightning Degree/Master of the Lightning Knives. From what I heard, it's based on an old Korean webnovel that's highly popular there. I believe there was a talk to adapt it into a live action drama. I would love to see that, mostly because of the tropes and cliches in this series. It has a lot of familiar plot beats which for some reason, is really comforting for me. If you haven't read it yet, give it a go.

About this chapter: this time, we have a chapter focused on Preya. We haven't seen him and Mr. Teim ever since they moved out Marciel's house into the Dark Dragons' house. And we actually get some characterization of Mr. Teim. I guess we can forget how he used to be an alcoholic who abandoned his family to pursuit space? That's the best part of Corseltel: fresh start for anyone living there.

So here's the new chapter. As usual, let me know if you find any error or mistake. Next week will be a Tobari update.
