CnRKM Vol. 3 Extras

Nanaten here. Sorry for being late, I was recording a couple of Let's Play episodes with my friends. Also, I seem to have lost my flashdrive containing ALL in progress scripts, including next chapter of Umakawa, half volume of Shura no Mon, and the next two chapters of Ake no Tobari. Okay, that last one I actually had backed up on my drive, so that's good. But inside that flashdrive is also the psd files of my releases for the past month.

This week's video: another episode of my (actually Hoot's) Metal Gear Rising Let's Play, where in this episode we made jokes about how many cooch Raiden's having back home for 30 minutes.

Announcement: I finished with my final presentation this week and I finally got my Master's Degree. It's been a long academic journey. I would like to thank my family and friends who had supported me for the past three years. I thank my parents for their encouragement and for pushing me through, I thank my big brother for supporting me no questions asked, I thank my little sister, who somehow managed to get her Master's Degree first (so proud of you, with a tiny grain of jealousy). To my academic advisors, for their feedbacks. To my friends who guided me though all these campus hierocracy. And lastly, you guys, for being there. I am looking forward to the next stage of my life (and possibly a little afraid).

About this chapter: editing this extras took way longer than it should. I actually skipped this extra and went straight on Volume 3. Of course, as you can see, I went back and finished these extras. I have already mentioned in the special booklets that the first halves of the booklets were Q&A session featuring side characters and were later re-released as Volume 2 extras. This is it. Because the Q&A stuff were released during early volumes of CnRM, some of the questions have already been answered. But they still give a lot of perspective about the characters and the world they live in. I actually had to read back on some of the characters name and place's translated names provided by Goingsoloonce's livejournal for consistency. So that was fun.

So here're the extras. Next week will be a Tobari update (if I can find my flashdrive)

Umarekawattemo Mata, Watashi to Kekkonshite masu ka? Vol. 4 Ch. 18.5

Nanaten here. I just discovered Total Drama series and I'm currently on season 2. Speaking of which, thanks to my friend Kasumi keep retweeting Minecraft Championship posts, I'm mildly obsessed with Technoblade. Damn it, Kasumi.

This week's video: episode 7 of my (or should I say Hootowl's) Metal Gear Rising Revengeance Let's Play

Little bit of news: this week marks the third year anniversary of Miku Morinaga sensei's manga debut. To commemorate, here's an illustration featuring the Ibuki couple and the main couple from Kimi no Koe.

Please retweet/reply to this picture to send your cheers and congratulations to Miku Morinaga Sensei. I appreciate that.

About this chapter: this is a pretty heartwarming episode. And you know what that means, next chapter is going to hurt like a motherf*cker. When this chapter was released on Pixiv, the chapter actually treated as a side story, despite being a main update. Somehow, this chapter doesn't have the conventional chapter number, they just call it a Side Story. You understand what I mean, right?

Anyway, this is a rather short update. I'm currently preparing for my closing exam, so there won't be much meaningful update next week. It;s just going to be a little Corseltel update. Also, I'm running out of Dropbox storage space, so if anyone could donate for a premium storage, that'll be great.

Ake no Tobari Ch. 176-177

Nanaten here feeling scared of the picture above. A couple of years and this thumbnail still haunts me. Speaking of things that haunts me, my ITP Toefl test has been giving me nightmares for weeks. I've been failing it several times this past two months. And it's not that I'm bad at it, it's just the reading section is way off. Like the answer keys does not match the question items. It's frustrating to do the test over and over knowing that you'll most likely fail on that kind of bullshit.

So anyway, this week's video is part 6 of my Metal Gear Rising Let's Play:

This is the part where we started getting the groove of our commentary. We did some funny (if not borderline offensive) commentaries about the game. Please be sure to watch it, and check out my friends in the video as well.

Random stuff: The PSO2 Episode 5 update has arrived, and I've been having fun with the new Hero class. I spent hours on Buster Quests trying to get to the new level cap. Also, I just installed Google Home and we've been fiddling with it and some other smart appliances for the past week. It seems to have problem recognizing my voice command in Indonesian, so I have to repeat my command with American accent.

An announcement: so anyway, this month marks the 7th year anniversary of Comico. And to celebrate, Momochi Dori sensei will make a special chapter of Ake no Tobari on October 23rd. So that will take priority first for the next Ake no Tobari update. And I am so glad that I can do this without having to worry about getting into trouble with Pocket Comics. From past experience with Comico Indonesia and other Comico services, they have the tendency of not translating the special chapters, such as chapters that came out when Momochi Dori sensei's taking a break, update that contains arts from twitter, and special Comico events. I hope I can find the time to actually do all of those chapters soon. I just keep forgetting about them because of how they were numbered in my folder.

So here're the chapters. Sorry that this is a short post, I was reading Invincible comics after I saw the first trailer of the Amazon Prime show. Next week will be an Umakawa update.

Umakawa Vol. 4 Ch. 18

Nanaten here. So I had fun playing Among Us with friends all week. You can check out our session over at Fox & Wolves youtube channel (Indonesian). Here's the first video of our sessions.

However, my first session didn't go as planned. The first time I tried to play with my friends, I scheduled a session and no one showed up. So to cheer me up, Hootowl64 decided to play Metal Gear Rising and allowed me to record him via discord. Here's the video of the first episode.

New episodes of each play through is coming in a few hours. However that means that I didn't have a time to do any chapters this week, so... yeah... whoops.

About this chapter: Welcome to Volume 4, a.k.a. the final volume, a.k.a. the one where every character gets killed. Almost the entire volume sets during WW2, so fair warning: brace yourself. I read this volume a couple of times before I started the series and I read more while working on it, yet it still managed to break me down to tears every single time. It's like one of those stories where you know what's going to happen but it still hit you like it's the first time you read it. Also if you haven't noticed, I decided to included the volume extra pages in the chapter as well instead of doing it separately at the end of the volume. I thought since it's the final volume, why not?

So here's the chapter, I'm supposed to be working on Tobari, but because of reasons above, I didn't have the time to do it. Also Momochi Dori sensei is taking a week/month break anyway, so I got a leeway.

CnRKM Vol. 2 Ch. 16

Nanaten here. So the new blogger UI is now changed permanently which means that I might have to think of another way to update mangas. I've been using blogger's old UI since I started back in 2011 and I must say, the transition to the new UI hasn't been a smooth sailing. I've been thinking of changing the site for a while now but I still haven't found a manga reader to put on the site (there's also the issue with hosting cost, but I'll worry about that later). If anyone has a suggestion for a new site and reader, let me know in the comments.

About this chapter: this is the last chapter of volume 2. As you've probably noticed last chapter, I started to translate the SFX as well. This is something I decided when working at Shura no Mon. However, unlike Shura no Mon, the onomatopoeia in CnR is so minimum, it wasn't a burden for me to work on it. A long time ago, I asked readers of this site if they would like for me to translate the sfx as well and they said no, so I never did until now. But, as picking the correct font is still a huge pain for me, I'll just be using the same font for the sfx, while keeping the Japanese sfx intact.

So here is the chapter. Next week will be an Umakawa update (finally). Now I'm off to play Among Us with friends.

CnRKM Vol. 2 Chapter 15

Nanaten here, on top of Grey's Anatomy watch (I was on season 8 before our Netflix subscription expired), I was also up all night playing Captain Tsubasa. I don't like playing football video game growing up, but I have to admit this game is hella fun. It's funny watching football player got tackled and sent flying left and right. It's hectic and I love it.

This week's video: just me playing Beat Saber. Nothing more, nothing less.

About this chapter: I downloaded a new set of brushes to help me with some of the redrawings and boy does it help. I am not that good with cleaning. I just use spot healing tool and hope for the best. If you read the latest chapter of Umakawa, there's a panel where there was supposed to be a rifle, but thank's to my cleaning, it disappeared altogether. Sorry about that.

So here's the chapter. Next week is supposed to be the return of Umakawa, but I got caught on Captain Tsubasa, also the power at my neighborhood is constantly cut off at the moment.

Ake no Tobari Ch. 174-175

Nanaten here continuing from my last week's venture into Grey's Anatomy. I am now on season 5 at the episode where they introduced Arizona.

Random thoughts: this week, Dengeki Bunko announced that they will release a new Haruhi Suzumiya light novel. I am so excited by this news. It's almost 10 years since the last novel, and with Haruhi-chan spin-off manga ended a couple of years ago, I was almost convinced that the series ended for good. The last novel ended on a pretty good bookend on Kyon and Haruhi's journey, hinting at their future relationship together. And re-reading the manga last month left me with a sense of satisfaction. Despite the upcoming novel is actually a compilation of short stories written by Ito-sensei, I'm looking forward to read about Kyon, Haruhi, the rest of SOS Brigade, and their antics. And who knows, maybe we'll be getting a season three. Dengeki Bunko has the tendency to produce an anime adaptation of their books when the series reaches it's 20th anniversary.

Ake no Tobari related news: Momochi Dori sensei recently announced that Ake no Tobari is now available at LINE Manga app. You know, the Japan exclusive manga website that also hosts Miku Morinaga sensei's "Kimi no Koe". Robubead was kind enough to share a screenshot of the image quality comparison.
Would've been nice if I can rip the manga from that app instead, but I want to support the series directly straight to the source. So please, support Ake no Tobari by downloading your local Comico/Pocket Comics app. Comico is available in Japanese, Mandarin, Taiwanese, Korean, and Thai, so if you are living in those country, please use the app. Same goes for those living in North America and Singapore, please download the Pocket Comics app. You can also download Pocket Comics through a third party apk sites, for those living outside those areas.

Speaking of which, I don't know if I have mentioned this before, but for the past year, Momochi Dori sensei had been asking fans if they want to see Ake no Tobari to be published in physical format. And recently Momochi Dori-sensei tweeted if the fans would like to purchase should there a physical copy. Again, all of this depends on whether or not you support Ake no Tobari on the official apps.
One of the fastest way is to go to the official Japanese Comico app/website, click on the Inquiry link and fill the request. Unfortunately, it's in Japanese and I myself didn't quite get the how to on that department yet, so I haven't tried to do it myself. But it seems to be the only way available at the moment according to Momochi Dori-sensei, so I anybody knows how to fill out the request form in Japanese, please let me know in the comments.

So here are the chapters. Next week will be a Corseltel update, but before that, here's a fanart Robubead based on a tweet I sent him last year.
