This week's VOD: I streamed a supernatural visual novel "Akaya Akashiya Ayakashino" by Haccaworks.
I've been meaning to play this visual novel since forever now. I read the manga adaptation when I was in college. I tried to play the PSP port 6 years ago, but it was Japanese only. And then I noticed that there is an English patch for PC. Heck, I didn't even know that there was a PC version. The PSP version is the updated port of the game with 16:9 aspect ratio, voice acting, a couple new scenes, and even two new routes, so it was definitely the definitive version to play. That being said, the person who made the English patch is currently working on a voiced patch for the PC, transferring assets from the PSP version. So I'm really excited for the new patch.
Other stuff: I just watched Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime. Right before I watched it, I accidentally watch a clip of the final scene of the anime and practically spoiled myself of the ending. So going in, already aware of the ending and the fact that it's made by studio Trigger, I knew that it'd be a roller coaster. I tried not to get attached to any of the characters because by the high octane level of action and goriness, most of these characters won't stick for too long. But dang, there are some tender moments that just made me care for those chooms. And as I am reaching that final scene once again, sure enough, I fought so hard to fight the tears only to fail miserably. It's been so long since an anime made me feel things. If you want fair comparison, I would say it's the Devilman Crybaby of 2022. And now I'm just gonna play "I Really Wanna Stay at Your House" for the 20th time.
