Understandably, Indonesians internet users were upset, especially gamers and freelancers. I always think myself as a pretty level headed person. Although streaming has made me more in tune with some of my pent up anger issues. But I never thought, there would be a time where I wake up and choose violence, until now. When I saw the news, I was fuming with anger. As someone whose half of their income comes from content creation, this felt like a personal attack. For the first two days, Kominfo didn't even do any sort of damage control. Instead they went on news outlet and started blaming the users, the blocked websites, and even justifies themselves by defending the some of the sites that did managed to pass their "screening" (which by the way, are gambling sites.)
The only positive thing that came out of it were the memes that came out to clown the incompetency of Kominfo. Which got me inspired to do a meme review stream, so I could vent about this whole kerfuffle (and probably end up in a government watchlist in the process).
About this chapter: so Corseltel officially gained two new residents. I sort of like their dynamic. One is a former drunkard obsessed with space and the other is a grumpy baby, yet the circumstances brought them together. They both have the same goal and are working towards it. They are welcome addition to the casts, even thought the cast is already large enough. But it does feel like a sense of progression, like the torch is slowly being handed over to the next generation.
